Is it only to be good-looking and have that sophisticated look? Or is there much more to the whiskers of a cat?
What can a cat do with his whiskers? What practical function do the whiskers of cat have? What is the purpose of the whiskers of a cat?
The whiskers are not just there to enhance the looks of a cat. They are there so that the a cat can do so much more.
The whiskers are very sensitive sensors that can detect any movement of air and therefore identify prey in the dark without having to see it and therefore they can catch it and this makes them excellent night hunters.
With their whiskers cats can measure the size of an opening so that they quickly know if they can make it through or whether they should avoid attempting to do through the opening.
So the whiskers are very important to the survival of a cat and should not be cut.
Scientists are studying the whiskers of a cat so that they could make better robots to help them easily navigate around objects.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 Easy-to-Read Version 11 God gave us the ability to think about his world, but we can never completely understand everything he does. And yet, he does everything at just the right time.
Isn't it interesting how we study God's creations to make our life better as robots could go where it is too dangerous for us?
Have you been amazed of some things you have seen a cat do?

Just like humans have 5 senses; when 1 is taken away the other 4 take over @minx267 . The same goes for an animal. When 1 is missing the others get enhanced.

Yes, they are there for a good reason and cutting them confuses the cat and makes his life difficult.

Apparently, it is so that no predator will be able to detect them from their smell and they are able to hide..

They lick themselves to keep the coat clean @toniganzon just like we would take a shower or bath.

You are absolutely correct @1hopefulman . The whiskers are 'sensors'.

Yes I have. Cats jump when you expect them not to and to very high places.
Thanks for the bible quote, reminds me to wait and I will receive.

And we shouldn't forget that they have nine lives.

Thank you for reminding of the wonders of God's creation.. Is there some research of why cats are purring?

Your cat's purring can signal happiness, anxiety, or another emotion. WebMD explains how to read that gentle feline rumbling.

I don't think the whiskers enhance the cat's look so it had to serve another purpose. Good to know.

So that he won't be jealous of the cat?
So that he can tickle his wife when he kisses her?
So that he can stroke it when he has a problem and it helps him to think?
