It Was Delightful To Me, Just Delightful!

A bit of green I took a photo of

Well, it is a day late, because 1st of September is Spring Day in South Africa, so I should have shared this yesterday, but I just could not find the time, because I can't find my feet lately, and so I am sharing this on our second day of Spring. It is not life alteringly important, but it was absolutely delightful to me! 1:30am in the wee hours of the 1st September, we got our first spring shower! Yes, after a dry winter, I saw lightning flash, heard thunder rumble and heard rain pattering against the window! It, people, was a beautiful moment, I tell you! I was grinning like a fool, lol. Uh, and that was it, delightful to me, but for those tired of rain, not so much, so sorry if it is a bit disappointing, I did a little dance though, a jiggle wiggle, a boogie, lol! I do however wish everyone a fantastic September and I hope you'll all have a good weekend. How is it going with you in your part of the world? Photo is of, I think another type of fat plant, that I took a shot of while walking, just to add some green to the day

I am so glad that you got the rain, wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone got only the rain they need!! That would be a wonderful thing.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed a nice spring shower! We've been getting a lot of rain here in Florida, but thankfully nothing like what poor Texas got hammered with!

Thanks, Jeff. I know you are fed up with rain, and Texas and all hit by that disaster will be horrified by rain for years to come.

@bluesa Actually, I'm not too fed up with all the rain, as I LOVE thunderstorms! But having a little sunshine every now and then is also a good thing. If I look on the bright side, all this rain and storms and clouds has kept our summer temperatures lower than normal!

It's not yet Autumn, because it starts the 21st of September, but from yesterday it is cold. We had thunderstorms and torrential rains from the early morning of September 1st and it is still raining.

@bluesa It stopped raining and today is a wonderful sunny day, even if a bit cold. It's still too early for a hot chocolate.

Sorry you're having torrential rains, Anna, and that the temps have dropped so. I hope you're snug inside your home, it is time for hot chocolate, yes? Is it still raining?

South Africa has not had lots of rain lately? If that was so, then no wonder you danced for joy like that.

Yes, Johannesburg has dry winters, spring and summer is our rainy stormy months, so the first rain is always so welcome to me

Lol, well, happy days for me, yes, DB, but I think there are many in South Africa that prefer gentle rainbows and sitting staring out at the sea.

Hi, OT. How are you? I am awful, positively awful with plant names, but I think this is a succulent on a larger scale than the others I took photos of. Thank you! I hope you get cooler fall temps soon.

I'm happy you received that wonderful rain and hope your springtime is beautiful! It will turn to Autumn September 21st here, but we are having a much cooler than usual week. It's nice and refreshing. However, we will still get more hot and humid days for a while. Love that fat plant!

Thank you, Dianne! I hope you're enjoying the slightly cooler weather before more heat and humidity. Lordy, I hope I have the right name for the plant.

@bluesa The weather put me asleep for hours today. I'm so bad with plant names. For all I know, that could be a tulip!

When my children were small we went for an extended period with no rain...not a drop....when the rain came in the middle of a summer afternoon, the children and I went outside to run around in the rain. Hubby though we were crazy. That's what memories are made of....over 30 years later the children still remember dancing in the rain.
