Had a good visit with the surgeon today

He was very pleased to see me and to see that I am doing so well. Everything is healing well. Just the way it is suppose to. He was happy about all the walking I have been doing and he was impressed with my blood pressure numbers. My blood pressure is lower then it has been in years. He also told me that I no longer needed one of my medications and he lowered the dosage of another. So that made me feel good. He said it is nice to see such a success story and that the two hours he operated on me was well spent time to see how healthy I am today. He shook my hand on the way out and I thanked him for giving me my second chance at life. He smiled and told me I just made his day.
While there we went to visit a friend who is back in the hospital. She spent 14 months in the hospital last year and got out in early spring only to have to go back four times since then. She isn't doing well. She needs to have a operation on her bowels but she is not strong enough to go through surgery. She is now fighting a blood infection. She isn't doing very well. It breaks my heart to see her like that. We had a nice visit though.
After that we went mall walking then came home. It has been pouring rain on and off all day plus thunderstorms every few hours. It is suppose to be like this until last tomorrow evening.

I am very happy to hear that you are doing so well. I am seeing how walking really does help. I bet you are happy with not having to take that one medicine.
I am very sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully she will get her strength back and be able to have the surgery that she needs.

I'm so glad to hear your progress report and that it is so good! Congratulations. Also congrats to being off one med and another lowered, great news! I'm sorry for your friend. That's so sad. I hope her body can fight this infection and she can have the necessary surgery.
My day yesterday was awesome with the great news about how much weight I lost this past month. Today has rain in the forecast and I'm hoping to do laundry at my daughter's. Other than that, I will be here looking at gray threatening clouds.

@Happy2BeMe I'm so very proud of you. From where I sat here, last June, reading about the heart attack and waiting and waiting for the surgery, it must have been so awfully hard. And I worried about you giving up, but you did not, you used this as a second chance. As a friend I know that I am grateful for your second chance and for your determination and hard work, and I'm sure that your family is thankful too.

Thank you. I was talking to my friends husband after I got home and he said it would be a year before they could so surgery. I hope she doesn't have to spend another year in the hospital.
