One Last Cookout!

We have been invited to my brother and sister-in-law's home for one last cookout. It will on Saturday in the afternoon.
The weather will be moderate and though not as warm as I would like, it at least won't be raining. If it does rain, my brother's new 3 bay garage will hold us all and keep us dry.
My husband assigned me to make venison stew. Perfect dish for a not so warm day. He is also bringing venison sausage and burger. We have plenty to share. My nephew gave us quite a bit when he cleaned out his freezers.
I also have to make a dessert to share. Most likely it will be cookies. My sister-in-law will be delighted. She didn't get any of the cookies I baked for our recent family reunion.
So, with that all said, I may not be around much until Sunday. Hope you all have a delightful Friday and Saturday. Any plans?

The stew is simmering on the stove. Just put the potatoes in. Next the dumplings. Baked 4 dozen cookies and they are cooling on the racks.

If the weather holds out it should be a good day. We do have the garage to shelter us from the rain if it decides to dump on us.

That sounds like a fun time.
We used to be the "entertainers" in our family and had a double car garage and a nice big finished basement for gatherings like this that we'd use if Mother Nature rained on us.
We're going to an outdoor wedding tomorrow. It will be on Lake Erie and I have a feeling that we'll be pretty cold out there. The reception is in a neighbouring town at a hall. In between the beach and the hall we have a few hours to kill, so we're going to a Conservation Area where our son will be camping with some buddies for the weekend-it won't be any warmer there.

My granddaughter will help me with the baking. She really enjoys helping. Of course she will get to lick the beaters!

Yes, we are working on our house tomorrow. Hopefully, to have our furnace going and the boards nailed up in the dining room.

We were hoping to get the boards to finish the trim on the walls, but with hubby getting laid-off again I am not sure we can afford it.

I am hoping that the sun stays out long enough to warm the cool air. With my aches and pains, I am not looking forward to the cold air settling into my joints.
