Cassini Spaceship

After being launched in 1997 and taking 7 years to get to the outer edges of Saturn and another 13 years exploring the planet and its moons, it finally ran out of fuel and crashed onto the planet.
Millions of miles were covered and some fantastic photos sent back to Earth. We as a species find travelling through space and to other planets for the main purpose of populating said planets is a little silly in my estimation.
Sure, let's land and populate said planets and screw them up like we have Earth. Our species doesn't learn from its mistakes. If we wait long enough and continue to do what we're doing, Earth will look like the ones we're trying to get too.
Pretty pictures though.
Contact has been lost with the Cassini spacecraft after it completed a "death dive" into the upper atmosphere of Saturn and transmitted its final signal, according to NASA.

@nanette64 We should use the scientific knowledge to do something for our planet. To stop the pollution, to stop to exterminate animals and pollute the oceans and the rivers. I wonder why the governments are not more serious about this.

@LadyDuck I think they've turned a blind eye to it and won't listen to the scientists.

You've got that right @LadyDuck . You would think with all the scientific knowledge of today, that we would know better.

I saw this on the noontime news. I didn't even realize we had a Saturn mission but I agree that outer space should be left alone

Yes, the photos are nice. I think outer space should be left unspoiled.

I do too @RasmaSandra . And for those that believe in the Bible, it states that God created this planet (Earth) for 'humans'. Besides, the billions that are spent on space travel could be spent HERE.

I hope by the time we reach out to other planets that we have learned from our mistakes and can make a decent life on one of them.

So one got back to earth? I will have to go read more to see how they did it.
