"How many posts are needed to reach $1 a day here?"

I see this asked often.
That, and "How many posts are needed to reach payout?" are two of the most asked questions here at times.
And the actual answer?
One really good one.
That is all it takes...theoretically.
Most new (and many older) users here are of the assumption that they get paid for their posts here.
While it is true that you can't earn if you don't make a post, the post you make is not what you earn for.
There's this little thing in the Earning FAQ that reads:
"How much can I earn with each discussion, response or comment? - This all depends on how interesting and valuable the myLot community considers it. The more that other myLot users interact with what you post, the more money it will make. If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything."
That last sentence, broken down, is:
" If no one reads what you wrote (follows a link to it), interacts with it (responds or comments to it), or otherwise considers it interesting ('likes' it), then you likely won't earn anything."
Now, since you are paid for received interaction from other users and not for your own actions, there can be no specific value placed on anything you do.
This also means that just one extremely engaging post (discussion, response, or comment) written by you can potentially earn you an unlimited amount of money.
It all depends on how much interaction it receives from the community.
The only 'limit' to what you could earn is set by the number of people that engage you.
Of course, I have not ever earned $5....or even $1...from just one post.
But it is possible.
I guess to boil it down, what I am saying is don't worry about the quantity "needed" to make money...instead, concentrate on the quality of what you write.
That is what really matters.

I didn't write any posts yesterday and I earned 30 cents and it was my the biggest day this month. I was surprised!

You didn't write any discussions. Anything you write is technically a 'post'.

@dodo19 Yes you are so right! What do you like to read about? Real life events or spiritual thoughts? I love humor as long as its clean.

Even many older members are under the assumption they are paid for their own work.

Yep, But honestly I don't know what the heck I do here . . . I do this, I do that . . . I am here, I am there . . . I might post and I might get to you, him, her and whomevers. And somehow the bank does goes up . . . I don't know how the numbers work out exactly . . . but still that bank will go up. So what really matters to me is that I'm enjoying whatever it is that I'm doing here - however I am doing it - I'll get to that $1 when I get there
.

I'd have to let my account go 'dormant' for several days to try to see what I would actually get from just one post.

@Butchcass4 I have noticed that an interaction with 2 other members in a thread can earn more than a discussion.

@topffer Yes I agree with you it seems when I interact with others posts that I see my amount go up.

I've always found that when I'm just my usual self and having fun that I do the best. Not that I am anywhere near a high earner here by any stretch of the imagination. I don't have any goals, although I like to cash out monthly. But more then that, my goal is to have fun-and isn't that the way that it should be?

If they are boring you won't make much. With the amount of responses on this one I think you have it down.

I possibly could have, but I'd have to stop and think.
It ain't rocket science fer sure, but I still want to simplify it some.

@JolietJake I think the quality of the post is important because we can share our thoughts on it.I find some posts which are not impressive to me .So I can't share my thoughts on it.

Actually you could interact 5,000 times and not earn anything, since your interaction is not what you are paid for.
