My Live Forever Flowers Are In Bloom

As Summer is winding down, when other flowers and plants are wilting away, one flower is thriving in my garden. The flower is called the "live forever" or Hylotelephium telephium "Herbstfreude") as a Botanist might refer to it. There are many varieties and species of this plant, but after much searching I believe this is the correct scientific name for the ones I'm growing.
The petals are a deep purplish-pink on my "live forevers or live longs," which is another term used to describe these plants. The flowers have very compact heads and live forevers can grow up to 2 feet in height. As evidenced by the common name, this wildflower is robust and can even thrive in disturbed areas. The heads of the live forever are green in color and do not turn to their purplish-pink color in New Jersey (Northeastern U.S.) until the beginning of September. This plant is amazingly persistent and can regenerate from any fragment of its composition.
I have actually taken a part of the flower after digging it up, put it in a flower pot, and come spring I have a new live forever plant. I can then transfer this plant to my garden. I have done this throughout my yard as I have two big flower pots growing with these flowers in my walkway. I would recommend this hardy plant to anyone who enjoys beautiful blooms and does not want to go through the fuss of frequent watering. Being so robust, the live forever needs little care, and because it reproduces from even a portion of the plant it is very cost effective. For these reasons there is no need to go out and buy more. An additional bonus is the colorful flowers attract butterflies.
In closing, I hope you enjoyed the bit of information I found on Wikipedia, in addition to my post. If you look closely at the photo you can see a small butterfly on the flower to the left.

@dgobucks226 I had seeds of four o'clock plants that I took in my grandmother garden. They auto seed each year and they give flowers from June to October. I love those flowers.

Yes Anna, I actually took them originally from my Mom's garden and have planted them throughout my yard. They fill in spaces so nicely, need little watering, and thrive in sun or shade.

@FayeHazel An interesting way to describe it. The butterflies are so tiny. Not like the bigger colorful ones I have on my other plants.

Oh, thank you "C!" I was trying not to scare all of the butterflies away when taking the shot. Fortunately, a couple stayed put

Thanks so much Jessica. You can plant them anywhere in the yard and they grow. No sun or shade worries at all. The flower heads are green most of the season until just before Fall and then, they turn the color in the photo. Very neat! So, I always have flowers blooming throughout the summer.

Why thank you! While the other flowers rule in the Spring and Summer, these babies have the last laugh!

No problem, I am not the best photographer
When taking the shot I was worried all the butterflies would fly away. Glad a couple stayed
