The Neilsen ratings for the 2017 Emmy Awards were down again even though there were more viewers this year compared to last year.
The 2017 Emmy Awards were hosted by Stephen Colbert. With the lower ratings on the Columbia Broadcasting Service (CBS) I am starting to wonder if either people are tired of these awards show or was it the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) Sunday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers versus the Atlanta Falcons football game that took away the viewers from the Emmy Awards show. You make the call

Just curious, how do the ratings go down with more viewers?

@1hopefulman You are welcome. The reason the viewership of the Emmy fell down is that the average viewer does not like a Hollywood movie or television star lecture us how to live.

The number of viewers this year was slight higher than the 2016 Emmy Awards but there were not that many viewers who reported seeing the show on their dairies that Neilsen sent them.

Awards show and beauty pageants have become the "Who Wants To Dunk Donald Trump Show" instead of entertaining us with witty comments that the late Bobby "Brain" Heenan or the late "Rowdy" Roddy Piper would tell on wrestling television.

Might it be because they are all talking shite all the time..they should stick to acting.

No one wants to hear the winners and other celebs make political speeches. This awards show (as others) should be about celebrating film, movies, acting, not about voicing political opinions, remarks, and the like.

The Packers vs. Falcons football game which was a rematch of the National Football Conference playoff game did take away some of the audience of the "Bash Donald Trump Awards Show."

There are numerous reasons for low reasons starting with being a political commentary show rather than entertaining awards program.
