How is your Wednesday going? Do they call it "hump day" where you live?

How is your Wednesday going? Mine is good so far. I worked at my friend's preschool this morning and am heading out to see a kid client right now. After that, it's band practice my our middle-aged rock 'n roll band. I had Everett & Jones BBQ for lunch. Nothing much more than that to report.

Everett & Jones is the best BBQ place in the Bay Area, as far as I'm concerned. It's a family business, and there are about four or five in the Bay Area. Yep, she's one of my little buddies.

I made dehydrated pear slices and pear fruit leather and went to the chiropractor and made a weird potato/hot dog casserole for dinner since the roast I had in the fridge wasn't thawed. What did you order at Everett & Jones?

It was beef brisket with hot sauce. Their sauce is the best. How did the casserole turn out? Have you Been to Everett & Jones? I don't think there's a "store" down in San Jose.

@TheHorse I haven't, but I highly recommend Smoking Pig if you come down south a bit. There's one in Fremont and one in San Jose, and they have the best brisket I've ever had (and I've lived in both Missouri and North Carolina barbecue country). Great place to see blues bands too.

Ribs sound good. Any special side dishes? The potato salad with my BBQ beef wasn't so hot, so I'm going to toss the rest and make mashed potatoes to go with the leftover beef later.

@TheHorse Some of those premade potato salads are just plain awful. My mom's potato salad is the bar by which I hold all other potato salads.

Very true! I think routine days make for less anxiety ("predictability is good"), and allow us to venture into the unusual in other days.

My hump day was horrible! I wrote about it, that boat! I stopped calling it hump day when a friend ask me not to, he said I was getting on his nerves and I like his nerves so I stopped.

Since it is Thursday here in Jerusalem I can say goodbye to Wednesday. I remember the term hump day. We wish each other a good week until Thursday and then we wish people a good Sabbath.
