~Week Over Yet? Lol~

My Older 3 Kids
Valdosta, Georgia
September 26, 2017 8:22am CST
Good morning everyone. I hope you slept well, I did thank God. So far, the older 3 kids being gone has been tough. I have cried, been missing them and wishing they were here. =( I talked to them last night before bed and they sounded happy so I'm glad. Some of you have said this will be a good time for me to get stuff done or for me to have some alone time. Not really the case...my older 3 children are independent, well behaved and very helpful to me. They don't hinder me from anything, in fact it's the opposite-they are a big help to me when they are home. The only things I have to do for them is cook hot meals or help them with their school work. And of course I play a game with them at times, or talk to them about what's on their minds and I'm always here for them... They just do so much for themselves now. Hope this week starts speeding up. Picture is of my older 3 children

You are so lucky to have such well behaved children. I wasn't so lucky. Enjoy them.

@celticeagle Thank you. We are very lucky, they are amazing kids. Of course not perfect but definitely not difficult either.

I am sure they are having a good time. As long as you keep busy it will pass by fast and before you know it they will be home.

Oh they still need you! I had to go back and read why they were gone since I'm so hit and miss about being here. They will be back soon and be so happy to see you! Even though they know how to do things, you are their foundation and what keeps them feeling stable and secure. That will be true even after they've moved out as young adults. Hugs.

@Cinnamongrl That's true, my husband and I do try to direct their paths and make sure they will be respesctful, decent people. I just meant they don't need me like the babies do anymore. I hope they will still count on me when they are grown for support emotionally and morally.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, they asked to stay another week because they want to celebrate their cousins birthday which is October 4th. Ugh.

You've got a such a nice picture of the 3 of them here. I know that you work together as a team there, and although I'm sure that you'll miss their helping hands, the babies will love having you every time they need something or someone. No more crying now, I'll bet that your mother didn't cry when you went away like that-chin up!

@Juliaacv Where do you think I get my emotional side from? lol. Yes my mom did cry when we went away as well, she hated it as much as I do with mine. My kids are my world, without any one of them I feel less like me. I'mso glad they are having fun though.

@Juliaacv I thought you would be! Lol. My mom was more overprotective than I am. She didn't want to let us grow up or be ourselves. So, I have changed that with my own children and I try to let them be more independent when I can.

@LovingMyBabies I'm laughing at you talking about crying-because I am THE very same way! I'm sure that your kids are missing you, Johnny and the 2 little guys. Funny thing, I am the polar opposite of my mother. She used to send me away for a week here or there to this cousin's or that ones, and never thought twice about it. I learned a lot about parenting and how it felt to parent the way that she did, so that I didn't follow that pattern.

Oh that's cool that they are little helpers. I always wondered how larger family does it - if everyone needs help. I never considered that sometimes they are good little helps themselves.

@FayeHazel Everyone helps out around here, as it should be since we all live here. =) They already know how to do everything they need to survive. Cook, clean, change diapers, do laundry, make bottles, food shopping, etc...

@LovingMyBabies Congratulations then on raising responsible humans. Sorry - I've been around bad examples for so long I don't even know that good ones exist.
