What is the craziest or unexpected thing you ever witnessed while driving? The most unexpected for me was 2 deer jumping over a guard rail onto Route 95 in Maryland. I was driving to Florida at the time in the early morning about 7 AM and they just darted into the traffic. Unfortunately for me and the deer, I avoided the first, but could not maneuver away from the 2nd one. I had bad dreams about deer on and off for months. My brother also had a good one. He was living in Florida and saw a very rare sight. A Panther crossing the highway right in front of him. The Panther was chosen as the state animal in 1982. There are less than 100 remaining in Florida. So, what unusual sights have you seen on the roadways? Panther facts- National Wildlife Federation Photo- animalfact.com

I saw kangaroos on a country road... Well, I guess it's not totally unexpected... There were road signs warning drivers of them around... It's still a neat sight though...

A thick white snake passed before our car when we were traveling by a ghat road at night, it was silvery whitish kind and shone like anything at night. We were scared that we might have caused some damage it

Nothing out of the usual critters, but I try to avoid them at all costs. And if I see an animal has been hit in the road, I pull over and move the animal out of the way because DRIVERS are A**holes and will run over them again @dgobucks226 .

I've honestly seen more stuff while on my bike than I have when driving.

OMG, I thought Florida was only scary because of its alligator problem, now this! We were there for a week, but lucky for us, we were in giant buses for tourists, so I never saw a thing. (Glad it was that way!)

Seeing someone lying by the road when you try to help them, they mug you. That was an unexpected shocking thing. Lucky escapes, Cops show up.

Deer are a common view here, we have also seen wild boars crossing the roads. The most unusual I think was a camel crossing a road in Indio (California).

@dgobucks226 No, in Indio (California - NOT HERE) there is a date festival every year and there is a Camel Race Festival there. Indio is in the middle of the desert, I suppose a perfect spot for camels. It's also the date capital of the world.

A camel is very strange A lot has to due with your country. Boars would not be something you would see in the U.S. I wonder if the camel escaped from a zoo?

@LadyDuck Oh, I know this place... We used to live in Riverside County and had a friend whose family owned a date farm in Indio. They used to give us a huge box of Medjool dates in harvest time.

Considering where I live, nothing out of the ordinary, the only thing that happened that wasn't odd at all is while we were driving through a game reserve a rhino sort of blocked the road and we very patiently waited for it to cross that road.

Late one night on the way home from a church meeting, a deer ran across the road in front of our car. That's not unusual around here, but this time the deer was being chased by a red wolf. We didn't hit either one.
