Well congrats to her. She has become the first to graduate from the Marines' infantry officer course in Quantico, Virginia. Now this might not mean she will be leading an infantry unit but it means she could. They have not said what she will be doing, but she is headed to the 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, CA.
The school is required to be a ground intelligence officer, so it might not be that she will be leading Marines in combat. What is she was?
As a former Infantry Marine I still hold to my thoughts back then, I'm glad females were not allowed in the Infantry when I was in. Now before you all jump on me at least read my reasons that I would not want a female in my unit with me.
I was born raise to respect woman and to do I can to protect them and make them feel safe. With that I know that some women just like some men can take care of themselves and don't need my protection but all the same I feel that way. I would be more worried about females then I would about the males or at least I think I would.
What do you think about women in combat rolls or as combat leaders?
