Why do we celebrate Christoper Columbus on the calendar he stole lady from Indians and proclaimed it american this is what you see as a hero. The store about this man is so diluted and doesnt show hes not as a great man as people say or proclaim him to be so why do we acknowledge him as a holiday

It is hard to change past history. There are many inaccuracies in history should we change them all? Just asking? He did make a great journey when others during his time believed it was not possible. He did land somewhere near the Americas (Bahama today) and opened up trade routes to the new world. His exploration gave confidence to other adventurers to sail west. On subsequent voyages he landed on the Caribbean coasts of both Venezuela and Central America. He helped lead the start of European exploration and colonization of the Americas. Not to shabby! Hey he wasn't perfect, but historians mention his influence just the same...

it is a pretty cool think to have some many accomplishments but as for accomplishments your wrong doings should tarnish them
