are you awake yet?

I see lights on in your house. I think you must be awake.
What are you doing?
Maybe you're reading in bed, comforting your poorly child or choosing which bra goes best with the top you want to wear today. Oh no! Don't you remember? That top is still waiting to be ironed.
Perhaps you're pulling on jeans and a jumper over your pyjamas, a dog or two excitedly bouncing around, desperate to get outside for both the toilet and a run around. Are you staring morosely at thin air as you munch on your Shredded Wheat {other cereals are available} contemplating another never-ending week of work and no play?
Oh, goodness! Did you just step on the squidgy pile of vomit the cat left you at the bottom of the stairs? Yuck. The baby is screaming, the toddler is throwing her toys around and Teenager is hogging the bathroom, using the last of the hot water.
Is your wife still angry and emotional after last night's argument over nothing? Make her a nice cup of tea and take it to her in bed. Wish her a lovely day. Watch the BBC News, listen to the radio, make some sandwiches for your packed lunch. Have a shower, clean your teeth, comb your hair. Is that a spot?! There, on your chin! Panic.
Plaster that smile on your face and prepare to face the day.
I am very curious {or just plain nosey} by nature and do often spend time wondering what's going on in other people's homes behind their locked doors and drawn curtains. If I could have a superpower it would be invisibility.
*smile*

@poppylicious Morning is a time for quiet reflection and contemplation. I've never spent much time choosing a bra to wear and I just wish that everyone else would just get up, get washed and dressed without talking or any other unnecessary fuss, and get on with life. I must go now to encourage my 16 year old daughter out of the bathroom and into clothes.

My best thing about working days is that I only have to talk to my cats betwixt awakening and leaving the house. It's wonderful.

I often wonder about the same thing. Every household as a unique story. Pretty interesting if you really think about it.

It is. What secrets are they hiding? What do they talk about? I enjoy a bit of mystery. :)

I am always curious about such things too - when I see someone reading a book on public transport I try to catch a look at the title and author to see what they are engrossed in

If I could actually see into people's homes in the morning I'm sure the stories would be more wonderful.

I would love to be invisible and look inside the houses of my neighbors early in the morning. I know that our closest neighbors wake up at 6 as we do. She goes out at 6:30 to bring her daughter to the athletic school (the daughter won a gold medal last week). Those in front of us wake up late, at 7:00 the lights are still not on and then they have to rush out to bring kids to school. I sip my coffee and I observe.

The chap over the road makes his packed lunch when I'm eating my breakfast. We can see each other through our kitchen windows!

@Poppylicious I only see the shapes of the neighbors in the house facing our kitchen, it's not too far, but they keep the curtains closed.

That definitely isn't my house, nothing gets ironed here : )
I'm always intrigued by people who live in houses beside the road and spend their evenings in their front room with the light on and the curtains open. You could just stand outside and watch them all evening and they wouldn't know it.

@Poppylicious Mmm, maybe it's their own low-key version of being on reality TV!

Maybe they want you to!
Nothing gets ironed in mine unless it really must. My Mumma loves ironing. I didn't inherit that particular gene!
