The Moody Blues have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is about dang time. The nominations for the "class of 2018" induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced today (10/5). Heading the list: the Moody Blues. Looking at the list, it really seems they're scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a nomination list. There are only two acts -- Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine -- who are being nominated in their first year of eligibility. Meanwhile, you have acts that should have been inducted a long time ago -- starting with the Moody Blues (who have sold more albums than three of last year's inductees combined) -- getting nominated again. Sister Rosetta Tharpe? As a performer instead of an early influence?? My "fan votes" will be going to the Moody Blues, Depeche Mode (their second nomination, they were nominated last year in their first eligible year), Dire Straits (eligible since 2003, nominated for the first time), the J. Geils Band (who will most likely be inducted on the "sympathy vote" of guitarist/namesake John Geils' death earlier this year), and Link Wray (killer guitarist who also should have been in ages ago). The Moodies are nominated. I look for them to blow the roof off the fan votes. I really hope that, when the inductees are announced later this year, they won't be just singers in a rock and roll band, they'll be singers in a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rock and roll band. Complete Performer Nominee List: Bon Jovi Kate Bush The Cars Depeche Mode Dire Straits Eurythmics J. Geils Band Judas Priest LL Cool J MC5 Meters Moody Blues Radiohead Rage Against the Machine Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan Nina Simone Sister Rosetta Tharpe Link Wray Zombies Go Moody Blues!!

Nice to see them get them get the recognition they deserve. I was blown away by the beauty of this song when it came out.
"Tuesday Afternoon" (sometimes referred to as "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)", or simply "Forever Afternoon") is a 1968 single by English symphonic rock band ...

I vote for Moody Blues and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Moody Blues was one of my favorite groups back in the day. I didn't come across Sister Rosetta Tharpe until about 5 or 6 years ago.

The Monkees fandom is all up in arms today as once again they have been overlooked. (I don't really care one way or another, even though I'm a huge Monkees fan -- I know that the RARHOF is pretty much a joke anyway....but I guess they should be in there. It's pretty awesome for the fans who did get nominated this year, though.

Rage Against the Machine are a good bet given their politics. Same with Bon Jovi who would get in on the same thinking accorded Journey. LL Cool J because they have to have another rap type who of course is a performer who has nothing to do with rock and roll. My picks would be Moody Blues, Depeche Mode and Eurythmics. I love Kate Bush but she is a cult figure. Bands like Radiohead and J. Geils were good but not HOF worthy sort of like Steve Garvey was a good baseball player but not HOF caliber.

I was going to make a post about this haha but never mind! Yes, it is very exciting, I would choose either the Moody Blues or Radiohead. Even Rage would be pretty cool to see! This is a pretty good nominee list, all of them really earn a spot.

A group well deserving for a long time while nominees with far less longevity and musical influence were inducted ahead of The Moodies. Finally is right! There you go Justin, Ray, John, Mike and Graham the nucleus of The Moody Blues who made so many great concept albums. Somebody in the Hall came to their senses
