Tired All the Time

My neurologist's PA prescribed me a low-dose muscle relaxer to help with my migraines and muscle spasms from fibromyalgia. Which, I have to admit, since I started taking it a few days ago, my shoulder and back pain has settled down significantly (until it starts to wear off, anyway.) It's too soon to know if it's helping with migraine prevention yet.
One drawback is that it makes me feel so sleepy and groggy all the time, especially for the first couple hours after I take it. I'm just now starting to feel less groggy from the last dose, and it's almost time to take it again. Hopefully my body will adjust to this medication after a while and I'll stop feeling so groggy all the time.

I am and have been on muscle relaxers over the years for my migraines primarily, but also for my back and fibro. And I used to be the same way. But after awhile it no longer made me sleepy. Now, it's like I never took anything at all. So perhaps it will be the same way for you.

I hope so! It's promising to hear that muscle relaxers have helped you. Today I am not feeling quite so tired, so perhaps my body is beginning to adjust already.

@Srbageldog I hope you will, my friend. I know where it is coming from.

Many medications make you drowsy it seems. Hopefully the side effect will go away once my body gets used to it.

I take a muscle relaxer when my muscles in my neck and shoulder tighten up. I only take them at bedtime because they really knock me for a loop.
When I wake in the morning I am in such a fog from the grogginess that it takes me a long time to function. So, therefore, I don't take them on a night when I need to get up early to start my workday.

Well I hope that with time your groggy feeling wears off. I know I have taken medicines like that and have hated feeling so groggy all the time.

The side effects of medication, although the lesser of two evils, hopefully will help your condition. Sorry you are so tired. I would think once your body adjusts it will be less severe. If not, maybe the doctor can adjust the dosage?
