Water Crisis in Venezuela? Another Reason to Move to Mars?

It's not a secret that Venezuela is having "difficulties". Incredible how a situation in a country can go from delightful to disastrous and it only takes one wrong move to do it. That wrong move I dare say, even though the man is dead now and I am no expert on foreign affairs, was electing Hugo Chavez to be the country's leader. It has not got any better under the new guy. Uuuhhh ... whatever his name is!
Anyway ... someone shared a post via Tumblr about the water crisis in Venezuela and concluded their statement, after painting a desperate picture with the words "it's home".
MY REACTION? (Notes to the Tumblr poster.)
"It's home? I feel you. But I also disagree with you. Water finally arrives and the streets get watered? In the “bigger picture” I see “oil wars” replaced by “water wars”. I thought when I first heard people talk about “water wars” it was just fiction. But you have shown me a very clear picture of reality. It's not a rumor! Sad. I'd move out of the country, while I still have the chance. Sorry. I would just have to be a patriot from a distance. Maybe if I moved somewhere else I could do something to help my fellow citizens back home. Not trying to sound selfish. But I would definitely look out for myself first! God made the whole planet and gave mankind everything we needed, which includes water. Men made countries and started this crappy vicious monopoly game trying to control folks by denying them access to their “bare necessities”. If I can go live somewhere else on the earth in peace, I'll go live there. What's that? I have a cynical view of the world? Yes. Yes I do. Cynical though it may be I consider the entire planet earth is my home. That's why I won't move to Mars!"
Do you agree with me? It doesn't matter! I'm not moving to Mars!
* *
But the evidence that's there's water on Mars is overwhelming!

Uh huh. Scientific facts mean nothing to me. I DON'T CARE!!! I'm not moving to Mars!
That's my final answer!

Well lads, it’s been a while since I last wrote a Random Venezuelan Rant™, so lets correct that, shall we? Today’s topic Water Alright, a bit of a background, the city of Maracaibo, my home, has had,...

If Mars has all that water, why doesn't it have trees and flowers? And don't say it's because Matt Damon doesn't live there yet??

@LadyDuck - My thing with Mars is that a lot of millionaires, billionaires, zillionaires, etc. are investing their money in order to be a part of the first colony or community on Mars. I know people work hard for their money and you can't tell them how to spend it but it sort of smacks of "elitism". Like ... only the "worthy ones" will be allowed to get on that "Noah's ark heading to Mars". Do you think they thought about paying for their maids and butlers to come along? Surely when they get to Mars they don't plan to do their own chores. What about their doctors? I don't think these people have thought this through at all.

@cmoneyspinner There is no proof that there is water on Mars. There is no proof that there is water on any other planet of our Solar system. I think we should explore other galaxies to know. Today I have read that there is a cave on the moon where humans could live... SURE!

Nope I would not like Mars at all. The sky around would be black and I prefer blue skies.

Me neither.
I would prefer to think of Mars as to how we saw it before and would certainly not like to go there Earth is so much better and more friendly to me.

People think when they break something, just get a new one. It's an easy fix. It doesn't work that way for planet earth. Whatever you break here you better fix it!!

True that.
So much can be done to fix so many situations even now.

Humans can learn to live without oil and use alternative energy sources. But everybody needs water. We can not live without water. It's troubling to think that others will find a way to restrict or limit your access just so they can control you! “He Who Holds the Gold Makes the Rules” is a common expression. You could easily take out the word “gold” and insert “water.” It's still boils down to somebody else trying to lord it over you. It's a worrisome thought.

This is one reason more and more people are moving off the grid and using free power and well water.
No I will not move to Mars either.

Not enough people know how to survive off the grid. I'm not even sure they know that "living off the grid" is even an option. If it's being kept a secret to keep people ignorant, I'm filing it under my "Government Conspiracy - Probably Not a Theory" file. Oh yeah. I keep a file!

Mars? That's too much of a commute for me! Just think of visiting relatives... 300 days of traveling is too much.
