We've created a nuisance caller

We’ve just had a phone call from a person offering some scheme to block nuisance calls.
Vince took the call and, when told what it was about, said he didn’t get nuisance calls. The caller was surprised at this but Vince said ‘I don’t get nuisance calls. You’re the only one’.
The guy replied: I am not a nuisance caller. I can help you avoid nuisance calls. I can block them for you.
Vince suggested that perhaps he could block himself.
This seems to have upset the caller who is now saying he will call every day. I do sometimes feel sorry for these people who are only trying to earn a living but at the same time it was pretty funny.

I have a private phone number at home and I get kids when they on vacation or whatever picking a number and then calling and hanging up and get wrong numbers too. I am sure he wanted lots of money to do that or he was a scam person. Good for Vince. So, does this guy call all the time and how does Vince handle him?

Vince ain't having any of what that caller is selling. Funny and sad at the same time. It is hard to earn decent money these days.

@JudyEv yeah, that's what I do as well. If they become annoyingly persistent, that's when show some attitude.

@JudyEv I get a lot from people wanting to help me claim compensation for being injured in accidents and I play along and tell them all about my accident and when they start writing down my details and ask for the date of the accident I give them a date in the future and it takes a while for them to catch on and they get cross. I have a lot of fun with such people.

So has the guy been calling every day? Do you think he was legit or some kind of scam? Many times I just hang up.

I like telling them hang on a minute I have to answer the door and just laying the phone down. In a half hour or so I go back and hang it up. But what you hubby did is priceless.

I can't see him ringing every day. It would be a waste of time for him. We don't know his number - at least I don't think we do. The number comes up on a little screen at the top of the phone and if it starts with 03 or 02 we usually don't answer it. If it is important the person will leave a message.

That is really funny. We have a no call list that we can be added to. Once on the list they can't call your number.

Kudos to your Vince. As for the caller, he does not get the privilege of defining what a nuisance call may be. My guess is he was most likely a scammer.
