We have a haunted lighthouse in Oregon

Maybe all the old lighthouse keeper's homes are haunted. But this one, at Heceta Head, near Florence, Oregon has the reputation of one the "most haunted places on the West Coast." Photo is the lighthouse itself, will add the B & B after comment. It is now a bed and breakfast, with spectacular views and I'm sure the "haunted" part is good publicity. We have not stayed there yet, though it is only 70 miles or so away, but friends who were there reported some ghostly goings on, such as someone sitting down on the bed they were in. The wispy, figure of a woman called "Rue" is often seen. She is not really scary, does nothing to frighten guests, but seems to be a sort of ghostly caretaker. Sweeping sounds have been heard at night Rue is even seen in day times occasionally. The story goes that "Rue" was a lighthouse keeper's wife with two daughters, one of whom drowned. After Rue died, she returned to the lighthouse searching for her daughter. There is an overgrown grave on the hillside too. Even if you scoff at ghost stories (I am agnostic), this is quite a tale. There are many online tales of this story and even on one YouTube. Here is a link to one: https://goo.gl/wzgZrQ Have you ever stayed in a "haunted" house?

I lived in a very strange house as a kid that was thought to be haunted.

@m_audrey6788 In that house, it sounded as if someone moved into the attic. There were footsteps and even sounds like a spool rolling across the floor.

@JamesHxstatic write a post about it. Was actually checking the light houses in nearby provinces in Manila. I want to see if I could visit some next year.

I believe in ghosts. There are too many incidents involving the paranormal for me to pass them off as not true.

@JudyEv I may have used it in a loose way, it seems to fit about any belief to me.

@JamesHxstatic I thought agnostic just applied to religion rather than to other subjects. Not that it's important. I'm always learning new stuff here.

This is a fascinating story James. I am always reluctant to visit haunted places, if there is a ghost, I can be sure I will see it and it's not something I really enjoy.

@JamesHxstatic No, I think not. I had enough of something weird that happened in our home last week. I went downstairs in the basement to get something from the cellar. Going down I could smell a strong odor of whisky. I checked around, there was nothing. I went up to ask my husband to come down with me... no more smell at all.

I know that you are very sensitive to this sort of thing, Anna. It would not be a good lodging for you.

No , I would never stay in a haunted house on purpose - so I won't be visiting that Bed& Breakfast.

@JamesHxstatic - I love this story ... and all ghost stories. Although I don't quite believe them, I always think something is going on. The stories are too prevalent!

Ah yes, but then if spirits are real, they are prevalent too (in my Vincent Price voice).
