Corner update and sex survey results

Here's a picture of that loudspeaker corner I've been working on for a couple of weeks. It looks square, but it remains to be seen how difficult color matching will be. As for the sex survey from my class, 90% of men (including some very young men) would prefer a serious relationship over a series of one-night-stands. 77% of women would sleep with a man on the first date. Anyone surprised? I wasn't by the former result, but I was by the latter.

It's a different generation. And a part of me wants to go all elitist and say these aren't...um...ah, never mind.

I thought you meant like a street corner update. Can you tell I am from the ghetto? Looking like you are making good progress. Now you need to find out how many of those one night stands go into serious relationships. I imagine that number will be quite low.

Maybe I'll ask them about those one night stands. Heh, I have some corner stories from the 'hood that are pretty funny. Maybe I should post a couple.

I'm a bit surprised at the figures. A bit sad about the 77% but it's a different day and age. The speaker corner looks good. I hope you manage to match the colour. I'm sure you will. It's not like it's the first one you've ever done.

It will be good enough, I'm sure. Yeah, I wonder if the results would be different at a more "competitive" college. Call me a snob if you want--I'm OK with that.

Looking good! I am sure you`ll be able to match it perfectly. Not surprised! I guessed 80/80. I do think that more and more woman are independent now, raising kids alone and working, so they either do not have time for a serious relationship or afraid of a repeat of the last serious relationship.

Nor would I. I'm going to have to "sneak" that question into the stack for future classes.

Looks like men are becoming more serious than women. Today I think it is best to look for serious relationships because you never know what you might find out there and I think it is very dangerous for a woman to sleep after a first date.

And yet they do it. I hadn't realized it had reached this point.

@TheHorse - Like you, I am also surprised by the latter. I think the women should read the results of the first survey and they may decide they are "giving it away" a little too easily!

@DeborahDiane It would. I don't have close friends teaching psychology in other states, or at more "elite" colleges. I'd like to know how the results would be different.

@TheHorse - It would be interesting to ask the same question in different places and see it the numbers change.

I'm shocked by the results for women. I really expected it would be the other way around. It's good to know men have some morals about them. Shame on the women.

@just4him But it may have been exaggerated. When I talk to my "older" friends who were young adults in the '60s, not all had free love. That era certainly changed attitudes, though.

@TheHorse Yes, it did. I'm sure there was some exaggeration.
