Be it a pair of runner shoes, jogging shoes, sneakers or school shoes, how do you wash them?
I had read that some people brush off the dirt from the shoes, before tossing them into the washer, which I had never done that because my hubby said shoes are dirty with germs and bacteria, should not be toss into the washer that washes our clothes too.
So, I wash my son's school shoes by hand, soap and hand brush to scrub off the dirt, rinse off with water and hang them up on the clothes line to dry. Need a good hot sun to dry drenched school shoes.
I also heard from my teen that China mates dump their jogging shoes into the washer with their clothes!!
What about you? Do you wash your shoes in the washer or by hand?

Exactly like @toniganzon, most of my shoes are leather and I do not wash them at all. I wash the fabric slippers I wear inside manually with warm water and soap.

@peachpurple We use this cleaner that we apply on the shoes. It cleans and protects the leather.

@peachpurple Yes. Sometimes I'd just mix warm water and baking soda or warm water, baking soda and vinegar until it reaches a somewhat pasty consistency, then I rub it to the rubber soles and canvas of my sneakers using an old toothbrush.

me too, I use the brush and soap powder. But for jogging shoes, I use damp cloth to wipe the outer surface

Hand wash too. Some apply toothpaste to remove the dirt and become white again (for sneakers)
