2014 – spoiler alerts A very funny spoof horror movie mockumentary from New Zealand in which a camera crew follow round a group of four housemates who happen to be ancient vampires. Three of the quartet consider themselves handsome dandies while the fourth is an 8,000 year old Nosferatu, the only one of the four who never speaks. The men are seen preparing for an annual ball, killing a young woman they lure to the flat, while turning her boyfriend into a new vampire, and refusing to turn their faithful maid into a vampire though he craves the chance to become immortal herself. They squabble with a local werewolf pack, and the Nosferatu is killed when the young newcomer to the group shares his e-mail address with a vampire hunter. One of the vampires dreads the prospect of encountering a vampire he refers to as the Beast. Whenever he mentions the Beast Durer prints of terrible demonic monsters are shown, but the Beast turns out to be just his ex-wife. The film was made by its leading actor, Taika Waititi, who later directed Thor Ragnarok Arthur Chappell

To be honest, I do not like the caught on camera style genre of filmmaking.

@JohnRoberts the vampires are fully aware of the camera team - it spoofs that kind of genre rather than simply folowing its conventions. They criticize one young vampire for telling strangers they are vampires to which he points out the camera crew as hardly keeping their nature a secret - he has a great point

I think our son insisted we watch this with him last Christmas and it was very funny. NZ turns out some great films from time to time and I love their accents.

We like this. I believe that he's planning an American telly series based on the film.
