Liz Smith had a gossip column for so many years in the Daily News starting in 1976 to 1991, then New York Newsday 1991 to 1995 and when the paper closed Newsday until 2005. During this time she had a column in the New York Post 1995 to 2009 and it was a sad end, as her columns were reduced in that last year.
I really looked forward to reading the paper, as she covered so many people. She arrived in New York back in the 1940's with only $50. I remember the first time I heard this information and thought if she can do it, then anyone of us can make it.
Sadly, Liz Smith has passed away at 94 and I would like to live that long in good health. Rest in peace Liz.

I used to see her columns. She was a major name in her day.
