A thief in the neighbourhood

Last night someone broke my neighbor’s backyard fence. He called the police and hopefully they will keep an eye on the vacant area where theives could easily sneak in from. The high trees and the dark make it perfect for them to get in unspotted. What is more concerning for me is that he can get into my garden from there without much effort. And there isn’t any protection into my house. He can easily cut the window glass and make his way into my house. That is why I’m leaving some lights on tonight and a helium balloon (from my daughter’s birthday) floating behind the curtains which from the outside looks like someone’s head moving. In future I am getting some light sensors and a window protection. Maybe an alarm system too if I save some money. Have you ever seen a thief in action?
