On October 23 this year, I wrote about the death of Easybeats rock band member, George Young (http://www.mylot.com/post/3118475/death-of-a-great-australian-rock-artist). We came home from a night away to discover that Malcolm Young, AC/DC rock band co-founder and legendary guitarist had died. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and was 64. His death comes just weeks after that of his older brother George who was a member of The Easybeats and a producer for AC/DC. Malcolm was the group’s key writer and leader although another brother, Angus, was the public face. The group survived the loss of lead singer Bon Scott in 1980 and went on to create the best-selling album, Back in Black which was second in sales only to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. In all, they sold over 200 million albums. The Young brothers were born in Glasgow, moving to Sydney, Australia, with their parents, sister and five older brothers in 1963. The band was formed ten years later. And so another rock legend passes. The photo is of West Australian wildflowers.

I didn't know they were all born in Glasgow. R.I.P., Malcolm. Thanks for the music.

It's sad to think they just lost George last month.

I guess, being ahead of the US, we heard it first. As in we're awake while you're still getting out of bed.

Rip to Malcolm. The rocker may have passed away but the rock songs will never die.

Sad to think the two brothers have gone so close to each other.

Another of that generation gone, they all seem to be dying in their sixties. That music takes me back to my school days!

@JudyEv I certainly remember the names and titles best from that era. I do still listen to contemporary music as well as other stuff but even the ones I really like I can hardly ever get the name of the song or even the artist in my head, I always have too many more things to think about!

There was some great music around at that time wasn't there? But perhaps we all remember the music from our teen years as the best.

With the deaths of so many old rockers, I am often reminded of that Righteous Brothers song, "If there's a rock & roll heaven. I went to high school with Bill Medley (the deeper voice) in Santa Ana, CA.

The photo looks nice with the edge all faded out, doesn't it? I keep hearing about people dying who are younger than me. Makes you worry a bit.

@JudyEv I pray to God, don't let me stay around to 100. A lady who is in her 80s told me, it is scary whenever she hears news of another friend just passed away.

@JudyEv OMG, are you likely to be similar to her? But you and your siblings are lucky to have her around for that long.
