Have you had any warnings lately? On the news this morning, they warned us that we are going to have a bad winter? Why is such a warning given? How do you view warnings that are given? Why does one warn someone? Ignore them? Take action? Get upset?

I take action. I get ready for what warning was sent.

That makes sense! I do the same. I evaluate the situation and come up with a plan to deal with it. I will always make sure that I have enough food in case the weather becomes too difficult to get out for a few days.

I ignore them. Last year they warned of a harsh winter, we did not even get snow.

Yes, weathermen are not always right. However, we've already had snow, cold and ice. I was told to always prepare for the worse in case it comes and if it doesn't come, I'm happy.

@1hopefulman I do the same, there are things that I keep in the pantry just in case we should get a lot of snow. If it does not snow I am happy.

It is -1 C and snowing - better put on my shoes with soles for icy roads, if I get out. We have not many storms here, but it can be very cold at times and we have to have warm clothes on.. a couple of our friends will stay in southern Spain until April..

@1hopefulman Good to have the opportunity to excercise indoors.. Here we, who are elderly, get free soles, so we don’t need to risk being hurt from icy roads.. Maybe they sell that kind of soles in sport stores in your place too??

I think we have about the same weather toady. I dressed warmly and went grocery shopping. I wasn't able to walk too much as the sidewalks were slippery. I took the bus and enjoyed the ride. I will do my exercises indoor today.

I have to hope that here in Latvia we have a mild winter. First of all I have no one to help me with snow, I need to sell my house and if no one can get to me I am stuck here until spring. I am so tired of good and bad days I don't want to hear anymore warnings.

@1hopefulman I am all alone and no one to help me. If heavy snow hits my garage roof can collapse my late husband used to climb up there to get the snow off and I cannot shovel the whole garden territory so the only thing I can do is shovel a small path from the door to the garden gate. What can I cay and no there are not neighbors who will come to shovel because they have their own shoveling to do so I just have to hope that it will be like last year with hardly any snow.

I guess it depends on the warning. If it's for storms or bushfires I'd do what I could to prepare for it.

Yes! I listen to the weather at least twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. I listen to the news on the radio each morning. It''s only 5 minutes but it tells me a lot. It pays to know what is going on and what might be happening or coming up.

They are unable to tell if it will rain next week, but they can tell that this winter will be bad ? It is the kind of warning that I would completely ignore.

That's true! I think it has something to do with El Nino and that usually causes the winter to be more snowy and stormy. Anyways, we will see!

@amadeo One thing we can do is make sure we have good winter clothing. Today, it was below zero C and I tested out my winter clothing by going shopping and walking a bit and it went well. Bring it on winter!

@1hopefulman guess it depends on the warnings. I get warnings from friends on facebook telling me not to friend a certain person and I check to make sure I did not. There is a reason why they are saying that and they might have or know someone that had a bad experience from that person.
