Winding up, or winding down

As we approach the winter holidays and the Christmas break, some things are winding down.
Progress reports will be due as soon as we return. Our last day of class is also the last day of the semester. The year is half way over.
Kids are winding up with excitement, though. It is also time for winter concerts, both for performing and for attending.
There are gifts to make, and cute stories to tell. Local expeditions to go on.
Today, after we swim, the little boy from another class will be going on a walking trip to a local bank. Hop right out of the pool, get dressed and into the cold.
I have to go along, as he is too flighty for one person to walk with on busy streets. My Friday afternoon student is out sick, so I thought I would not have to get in, and I thought I would not have to go on the field trip. So much for thinking.
I have been awake for a while but do not want to really do anything.
Guess it is time to fix breakfast.

I've sorted a few things as part of my culling before the big move. A little at a time makes it a bit less intimidating.

I need to do some more sorting and thinning, and tht will happen once I "retire". I already know I will still be busy. If nothing else, I will be a substitute.

@Morleyhunt But you have had to deal with your dad's needs if I remember correctly? That is time consuming.

@GardenGerty I've been 'retired" for three years now. Only in the last few weeks has the pace seemed a bit slower....once we've moved (in May) then with hubbies retirement the pace should be more relaxed.

I remember the excitement of "it's almost Christmas vacation!" It sounds like the kids you're working with have a lot of fun activities planned. I don't know about that from the pool to the cold street,plan though.
I don't really want to do anything either! I think I might do some Swagbucks today. I just discovered I had enough for $25 Paypal, and I hadn't even been in there in ages. So that's encouraging!

As far as Swagbucks goes, you do know that for 2200 points you can get your first gift card of the month, except for paypal, right?I usually get an Amazon. If I get so lucky to do a second one in a month then it is PayPal. The pool and walk thing got cancelled. That will be a post tonight. I was truly dreading it.

Guess I'll have breakfast, too, although it's already 10:49... I take my meds on an empty stomach and go online for "a bit" before I can eat, but get carried away and forget to eat.
