CHRISTMAS, MYLOT AND ME.

When I joined the Mylot family in November 2016 I was going through a very dark period - and Mylot helped lift me out of it. During the latter part of 2015, I gave up city life to live in the country - and that needed a lot of getting used to. Unfortunately, during that time no internet was available ,so I only heard of the closure of Bubblews and the awful realisation that I had lost most of my 500 posts. Things started to look better in 2016 as work was underway to install a reliable internet system in our area - then tragedy struck. Early in 2016 I lost my dad then three months later -my beloved elder sister unexpectedly. That summer was the worst in my life. Then the only sister I have left @Freelanzer introduced me to Mylot and I am so grateful that she did. Mylot, along with my faith, helped lift me out of depression. Being here made Christmas 2016 bearable - and here I am enjoying another Mylot Christmas. Thank you Mylot and my mylot friends, and I wish everyone a glorious Christmas season. Can you name one of the many things that you are grateful for as we approach the end of 2017?

Thank you - I do enjoy yours too. I know , most of the time I am too busy to get to the beach - and there isn't much else that I am interested in around these parts.

You did not join myLot in November 2017, you joined the 11th of November 2016, it's more than one year that you are here. I think it's a typo.

That is so good that you've been able to find your way again. I always look for your posts and enjoy them. I'm not sure what I'd do with myLot. I'm sorry you lost 500 posts. I keep copies of mine.

@Kandae11 I always write in Word then cut and paste. I always seem to have to edit a bit before I put up a post.

I retrieved some of them through the Wayback Machine. When I moved to the country, I had no real internet otherwise I might have noticed the way the wind was blowing and made copies of my posts.

Very nice post!! I love myLot too and I am thankful for the wonderful friendships I have made here. I would be lost without myLot. With 2017 approaching I am thankful to still be here to enjoy another holiday season! Merry Christmas to you as well and all the best in the coming year!

Being forever in the attitude of gratitude every moment I am grateful for. but one thing stands out and that is my old maid who knew the ropes of our household is back in my life. Happy that you got over your depression and that I can see reading your discussions.

I am so sorry for your losses in 2016. I've seen @Freelanzer here a few times. I'm so glad myLot has helped you out of your depression along with your deep faith. What I am grateful for as 2017 comes to a close - I'm grateful for my family - my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and my siblings and their families. I'm also grateful for my relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ.

It really is a friendly community, for the most part, and there are those of us who really do care about each other. I pray that 2018 will be a good year for you, full of God's blessings.

I have been on online sites for eight years and have sweet memories of fellow contributors though I have lost touch with most of them. Wish you too all happiness of the Christmas season. I was lamenting about life in general several hours ago, then I thought, 'hang on, at least I still have some people around me to complain about. THAT is better than having nothing to worry about!'

@Kandae11 Met plenty of seniors like that in nursing homes. They sat there waiting, hoping that someone, some relatives would come visit them. One lady in her 90+, single her whole life, (because many men went to war and didn't come back, causing a shortage in men back then) decided to surround herself with her great-nieces' and great-nephews' photos instead. Right now, I still have people to bug me.
