The Jerk in the Thumbnail is Ajit Pai.
He is the US Government's FCC chairman. He was appointed by Barrack Obama but he is kept by Trump.
Even if You are not American You must vote against this guy because if this happens to US, it will affect the whole world.
For now Internet is free, Yes we pay month bills but we are free to do everything we wanted with the internet.
Ajit Pai wanted to end that, he also wanted to end our privacy. He wanted to lift the Net Neutrality laws.
Look Internet kidn of sucks already because of data capping. Well it will get worst. He wanted Telecoms to make more money so this is what Ajit wanted to happen.
Let's say you want to watch videos on Youtube, Pornhub or Dailymotion. With Net Neutrality lifted, You wont be able to watch videos anymore unless you pay an additional fee to your telecom.
Yes every single feature of the internet will now be paid on a separate package.
It will make telecoms more money but hurts us the consumers. It is like buying a Doll with incomplete body parts.
Americans can vote against Net Net Neutrality by contacting the FCC, Emailing their local Senator.
Americans, Please vote againts this because this can damage internet globally. I do not want internet to be separated in different packages. Do you want to pay additional fees to see pictures or listen to Music?
I am sure you dont.
Also it will invade your privacy as well. Lifting Net Neutrality Laws can make spammers more aggressive. I do not want companies dictate how I will use the internet.
Even though FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has made it clear that he’s not backing down from his attack on net neutrality, he does acknowledge the substantial amount ...

It concerns only the USA, many European countries have already laws to guarantee net neutrality. What I experienced in the 1990's here when we had not these laws was worst than what you are describing : some providers were blocking access to sites of other providers, even to the emails sometimes. I am happy that this is behind us in Europe. It will not affect you in Canada.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Many countries have laws to forbid to ISPs to do that, although some are trying : one tried to launch a phone subscription with only FB and Twitter a few years ago in France, and in 2010 2 ISPs tried to block VOIP. We have a commission doing a good job to stop these kinds of attempts.

It may inspire ISP's in other countries to follow suit. When I was in the Philippines, ISP's there have data capping and they have services fee for Youtube,Netflix,Iflix and other stuff. For sure it will only affect US from now but many greedy ISP's worldwide will follow. I already experience something as awful like this in the Philippines.
Also many websites might end up not available outside the US like that jerk Hulu.

I have called, written AND emailed. Unfortunately, we don't get to vote for FCC Chairman, only add our voice to the outcry. I REALLY do not want net neutrality done away with. This present administration, though, cares ONLY about profit for the businesses, they do not care how the people will suffer. It's disgusting to me.

I dont want additional fees to access certain websites and certain internet features. I am in Canada but we know US always cause a Domino effect around the world. I already left a country where people have to pay for Data, heck using Youtube and Spotify have fees in a telecom known as Smart.
I do not want the world to have that experience.
This video is something we can share to our loved ones who are not aware:
The FCC just released an ad about its plans to kill net neutrality, and it's surprisingly honest and informative. ?Tell Congress to stop the FCC: https://www...

@Daelii Some American websites might end up not available outside the US just like Hulu. This is one impact this thing can do.

My 13 year old daughter was just telling me about this last night. I read about it a little and am absolutely shocked when she came today and told me it was passed. Makes me wonder what sites I will have to pay for and how many I will have to give up. I am worried I won’t be able to come here anymore :(

@CaptAlbertWhisker Europe is learning to walk alone without always looking at the United States. There is a larger number of people living in Europe than in the United States, it's time to follow our rules and our laws.

Right now I am not in the states but the US is my homeland and this is bad. Being alone the Internet keeps me from being sad and lets me keep living in the online world. If things changed then I would be totally alone with no outlet and that would be the worst of all things.

I think it happens because some ISP's have partnership with some websites they have want a monopoly. Also Cable companies are supportive of this because Streaming is killing them.
