How much can you economize on your daily spending?

You know how important it is to budget our daily spending. Your daily budget may be based on your monthly earning. For me, as I am living alone, I must know the maximum daily spending. A few times I go beyond the ceiling and when I realize this, I should cut it down in order to be under maximum daily expenses. Yesterday I succeeded to spend only approximately US$0.85 it is only 37% of my total maximum daily spending. About you, what is the lowest and highest daily spending? You may use percentage instead of actual amount. Thank you.

We go to these lengths but we have a good idea when we start over-spending and at that point we cut down again. We are retired so don't have a salary as such any more.

@yanzalong It's fine to ask. Mostly we worked for a 'boss' but for a while we were part-owners in a farm machinery business.

I go out grocery shopping only once a week, it's easy to know how much I usually spend and to cut down a bit if I spent too much the previous week.

That is something many of us don't want to think about! Spending can really get out of hand at times.

Yes, that happened to me many times. When I had lots of fund, I just tend to splurge and when I am hard up, I keep thinking about budget.

It's hard to economize when the buying power of our money keeps shrinking. Then there are credit cards which encourage people to live beyond their means.

I agree. Some people feel forced to use credit cards, which may turn out to be burdens in the future.
