Finding gifts for the holidays is hard

I am Jewish and from Eastern Europe. While we do not celebrate Christmas, we still put up a tree, except we call it a New Year's tree and we give each other gifts, just on New Years instead of Christmas.
You'd think that getting gifts for people would be easy but it's not!
I found a gift for my mom (a nice jewelry box), which was something she was looking for. Hopefully, she will keep it.
I have no idea what to get my dad though. Thought of a sweater or a nice scarf, but can't find anything I like.
My husband is already taken care of. I got him something he will use.
Now, I need to get something for his parents. It doesn't necessarily need to be a separate gift for each of them. Something for the house, or that they can both use is fine. Problem is finding something that screams buy me. So far, nothing does.
I also need to get gifts for my nephews and it would be nice to get a gift for my brother and his wife as well. But what to get? For the kids it's easier and I already have ideas. For the adults it's much harder. I have no idea what to look for. Everything I come up with as a possible gift they already have.
I've been going to stores many times trying to find something for all of these people, but each time I leave empty handed.
I don't want to get something just for the sake of getting something. It has to be nice and something they will like and use. So far I am out of luck with the exception of my mom and my husband. It's very stressful physically and emotionally trying to get gifts for people.
Who are you getting gifts for this holiday season, whether it's for Christmas, New Years or some other celebration?
I wonder what will be waiting for me under the tree this year? Last year I gave my husband a gift for New Years but he didn't give me anything. I have a feeling the same will happen this year.

I suppose there are always gift cards. A magazine subscription? Personalised towels? Coffee mugs with a favourite photo printed on them? A flowering pot? I hope you're able to come up with something.

Thanks for the ideas. Gonna talk it over with my husband and see what we can come up with for his parents.

@lovebuglena I'm sure you'll come up with something. Once you ponder on something for a while it is highly likely something will pop into mind.

@JudyEv That might happen. But right now I don't feel very hopeful. I got something for the in-laws before (which they seemed to want) but they never even used it. It is in storage. :( It's like money wasted.

Have you thought about asking them what they would like.
