As a person who drives daily, I usually need the smatphone GPS function to get to new locations. I guess it is really helpful when going to meet clients in areas where I rarely go before. Thanks to the GPS, it helps me to get there timely.

I sometimes use it, when I have no idea about a place. Sometimes, GPS navigation leads us to those roads, which are either under construction or closed.

i don't but i have a relative who proactively directs the taxi driver where to go because he's monitoring on his phone where the blockages/buildups are

Oh The GPS is a hell of a help... It's so easy to go to places now even if you are going to an unknown place
