Yesterday, as usual, I left the IMCU at around 3:30PM. I was rushing because I had an exchange of text messages with a colleague, Miss CC, where she mentioned that the troop of friends (tropang prenship) will have the exchange giving of gifts at Cabalen restaurant in the supermall. I picked out the name of Miss AUA and she wished to have power bank. I also included a plastic purse with the power bank. While waiting for a tricycle outside the hospital premises, I saw Miss AUA running towards me and saying, “Mommy -Ingrid, merry Christmas” and we had the typical Filipino way of ‘beso-beso’, or kissing cheek-to-cheek. She is training at the delivery room. I told her that I am so tired but I will go to Cabalen to give my gift for her. She got what she wished for- a power bank. Suddenly, she stomped her feet and said, “Mommy, thank you. But how can I use the power bank when I dropped my iPhone on the floor and it is not working anymore. I think it is LCD’d”. I and she laughed out loud. I said she can use her other phone, but she said her other phone's battery is drained and no longer operating as well. Well, unavoidable circumstances can happen. I hope the power bank will still be useful once she buys a new phone. Do you always get what you wish for?

this lunchtime i dropped by the delivery room and talked to Miss AUA. i asked her if the power bank is useful considering her iPhone is not operating. she said, "yes, thank you, mommy. i use that to recharge my phone. i cannot text but i can still answer a call even if the screen is black."

Too bad for her that she can't use the powerbank. I remember the joke of one of the pastors at church. He said that he gave powerbank to the Sr. Pastor. And said "you already have power and bank at the same time". I actually did not get the joke.

@ridingbet It might be! May power ka na, may bank ka pa! You have power already, and a bank at the same time. (Translation, is it correct?)

the pastor separated the power from the bank. maybe he meant your luck on financial matters will be great.

I hope she'll be able to get her phone fixed or a new phone. I don't always get what I want, but so is life.

Once she gets a new phone or charges her other one, she will be just fine!

@DianneN my sister too, when she receives a call from messenger, she is 'toxic' in asking either me or my son what she should swipe- should it be the red or the green?

This is an example about the saying "Be careful what you wish for" because unavoidable or unforeseen events may happen.
