Flag Raising Ceremony

I joined 365 Project (A Photo A Day Challenge) more than a year ago, but I only uploaded 2 photos before today. I am trying to take this challenge this year, and take a photo a day. This is the photo I took today. We attended the flag raising ceremony (which is the school opening ceremony) at a Taiwan International School this morning. We woke up quite early today, and we spent our whole after taking a nap, except my two elder children. So, we don't do anything special on new year as usual. How did you celebrate your new year?

We celebrated the new year at the temple. The moment the clock struck midnight, we kneeled and prayed for peace, love, health, and abundance.

I have not heard about this celebration before, but I think it's a very good tradition or practice. It's good to be grateful. Happy new year to you!

@toniganzon I think it's good to have your own family tradition, though we don't really have one for ours.

@kaka135 It's not a cultural tradition here. It's just what we chose to do on new year's eve.

Sounds like it was a good flag raising ceremony. May the spirit of the season of New year fill your heart with serenity and peace. Wish you a happy new year!

Thanks! Actually there was nothing really special, but my husband needed to attend the ceremony, so we just join him and also let the children visit the school and attend the ceremony that we don't usually see. Happy new year to you!!

Lol well you saw my post about how my day started with the frozen pipe to my furnace. I love the photo you attached. I love pictures and learning about new places. I hope you continue to do this daily photo challenge!

Thanks! I am trying hard to do the challenge, but I haven't keep it up yet. I remind myself to at least take a photo everyday, then I am finding time to post them here slowly. I might not always share new places, as a stay at home mom, I really stay at home most of the time.

@shaggin Same here, except that I homeschool my children on my own. I am glad there is a park nearby, just within walking distance, and my social life is mostly with my neighbors. That's where my kids found their friends too, besides the neighbors next door.

@kaka135 I understand that I do not work and stay home with my son all day while he does cyber school. I go out once a week or once every two weeks for groceries. I don’t see much or see anyone much to socialize so I don’t always have things to write about here. I just comment on others posts when I don’t have anything new to write.

As the usual practice, we celebrated with the people who are close to our heart.

@Shavkat We don't really celebrate new year's eve, I don't remember doing anything different this year. I guess I just asked my kids to sleep early, so the next day they can wake up early. Well, I have always been asking my kids to sleep early every night. How about you? What did you do with your family?

The first day of the year is always a day to relax. We stayed at home, have a nice lunch and I watched some projects on YouTube.

I think that's a very good way to celebrate new year. Now I always prefer to stay at home, be relaxed or just have fun with my family.

@LadyDuck Yes, I think it's nicer to stay at home and enjoy the peace. I went out for new year eve celebration with my friends once, and I told myself I would never go again. That was too crazy, and not fun at all.

I always like to join those challenges, but many times I didn't always do it. I hope this time I can make it. Hope you enjoy spending time with your co-workers. Happy new year to you!

@aureliah It's so nice that you have good co-workers. Our working life will be so much better if we can get along with our co-workers.

Start from the left: Our state flag, our country flag, Taiwan flag and their school flag. That is a Taiwan International school in my country, Malaysia, for the Taiwanese students to study.

Same here, I always can't keep up with challenges, but I still like to join them. I guess I just like to keep challenging myself and hopefully there will be a day I can make it!
