How do you select your parking spot?

United States
January 8, 2018 2:03am CST
I am not that picky when it comes to parking spots. But, for my fiancé he prefers the closest one. He'll circle around looking for a closer spot but after two times, and he can't find a close spot - he'll pick whichever one available. For me, I must need: The parking spot to be spacious or somewhat reasonable (I prefer corner spots) and a spot that I will be able to pull out easily afterwards. I'd of course try to get a nearby parking spot, but I definitely won't circle to find the closest spot. If you drive - how about you? How do you select your parking spot?

I do not drive, my husband is not picky, but he avoids a too narrow parking lot, that's the only thing.

I am picky even if I'm not the driver, but usually I won't say anything unless its narrow.

@LadyDuck Hehe. I sometimes nag but after the fact. And sometimes he reverses out and finds a different parking spot. :P

Sometimes I pull into the handiest spot available. I don't mind walking a few extra steps for the exercise.

I don't mind either unless it's like raining (which it rarely does but we're expecting rain this week), or something. Or, I know I am buying something oversized (which is not too often).

I always tell my wife that we are only parking to get groceries, not to take pictures on the parking spot. She is very picky too, even if I’m driving. Of course I would avoid to park too far or if the spot is too narrow, but other than that I don’t care.

I choose spot where I can easily escape (in parties) and not being noticed by the people.

I don't mind parking quite a distance from the store or office entrance, especially when the weather is nice. It's a good way to get a bit more exercise. I'm like you. I'd rather not be in a tight spot, too close to other vehicles.

I don't mind either =) The extra walk would be nice. And I don't like tight spots or too close to other cars also.

My parents would circle many times until they found a close spot. I have such a hard time finding my vehicle so I have to park in the row directly down from the door or I cannot find it lol. It doesn’t matter how far down the row I have to walk that is where I will park.

@infatuatedbby I did take a picture one time of where I parked only because the sign was funny. I was on spot 2B and someone wrote "or not to be" on the sign.

I don't like circling unless I have to because it's holiday season & the parking will always be crowded. I sometimes take a picture where I parked so I could remember. I can be forgetful at times.

Since I have a big truck, I look for a parking spot with the most room so my truck will fit without me having to bang more doors against other cars. Also, I like to back my truck in to a parking spot so it will be easier to get out afterward, so I also look for a spot that allows me ease of backing in. I don't care if I'm close to the front of a store, I don't mind a little bit of walking.

I’m not good at backing up but I do when I can. I use the back up cam, you have a back up cam? But I’m sure you’re a natural pro at backing it up in the parking lot Ok good night for me now soon !! Have a nice day ahead

@infatuatedbby I don't have a back up camera. I back up so much when I park my truck that to me it's as easy as pulling frontwards into a parking spot! Hope you have a good night and sweet dreams! I am off to work now!

I like those too. But if I park especially far and see a car parked next to me when there are 3982429 parking spots. Why next to me, gah!

When Tony is with me I park in the handicap because he has cancer, alone, I dont care as long as its not to far from the door, since I am alone.

Must be really busy. It is busy here too but I'll just opt for a further parking if its not spacious.
