My take on the News - The Golden Globes, everyone is wearing black.

The big news of the day seems to be the Golden Globes award show where 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association vote on excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. I guess this is a big thing if your in film and television. So there is a lot of news about it. Who Ewan McGregor thanked..who cares. Connie Britton wore a sweater...Connie who? Ally Sheedy called out James Franco for predatory behavior during the Golden Globes...really? Sharon Stone wore the most revealing dress...maybe James Franco said something? Two articles I like the head line for is "Ariana Grande freaked out over Millie Bobby Brown's Gloden Globes look". Don't worry she freaked out in a good way, apparently she liked it a lot. I was confused too. I had to find a picture to even know who Millie Bobby Brown was and what is the big deal about this dress she wore. Well, I guess since I am not a 20 something female I don't see what the big deal is about the dress. The other article I thought was funny is "The Golden Globes - Everyone is wearing black". The article goes on to tell us how everyone wore black in support of the #metoo and #timesup. The sexual harassment that is finally coming to light in Hollywood. The part I find funny is that the article and headline both state "everyone" then towards the end of it they say there were three that didn't wear black...well then that is nearly everyone or mostly everyone. I never really cared about these award shows, I think they are a waste of my time. Wow you get an award for getting way over paid to pretend your someone your not. We as normal everyday people put these people on a pedestal for being special?

I never watched the Golden Globe, I saw the photos of some of those "black dresses" and I think that most of them are not the most appropriate to wear if you do not want to be harassed by a man.

@anniepa I agree and I know, but if I want to be respected I cover myself to show that I am not for sale.

@anniepa I fully agree on this. For too long men have considered women like something they can use as they like. It's time to put a stop to the violence.

that is why it is on tv cause someone must like watching it. I prefer not to, but I'm not saying you shouldn't. Do what you like to do as long as it's not hurting anyone :)

It's so pretentious and boring when people have to stand around bragging about themselves.

I understand the idea of self promotion so "we" will keep coming to see their movies but award shows? no thank you.

Can I assume you didn't watch? I say that because I did and nobody stood around bragging about themselves. There was a lot of congratulations, praise and thanks for costars and others involved in someone's movie or show but I saw no bragging whatsoever.

I do not bother watching gatherings of Hollywood hypocrites.

I didn't see it - might have to catch it on Youtube. Must have looked a bit strange - with almost everyone wearing black.

You have a point it would be odd to see a whole room of people wearing black except a handful who decided to think for themselves.
