Pinterest Fail - Saltine Cracker Candy

United States
January 9, 2018 9:05pm CST
I was looking around on Pinterest (thanks to @DesirousDreamer for recommending Pinterest for recipes) when I seen a neat recipe for Saltine Cracker Candy with toffee, chocolate and pecans. I had all the ingredients already, so I decided to give it a try and make some for tomorrow. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to or like the picture showed, but it's not bad. My toffee wasn't thick enough and my chocolate didn't melt all the way. I think I also burnt the crackers a bit Oops! Practice makes perfect! I am sure it will turn out better the next time I make it. Oh well, It was fun trying something new!

The recipes always need a bit of adjusting and the second time they are better.

@MikesAngel317 Sometimes I also rush to try a recipe. The first time we should take our time.

@LadyDuck I was just so excited to make it and before my boyfriend came back home, I did rush a bit. Next time I will definitely take it slow and hopefully it will come out better.

Oooh, it still sounds delicious even though it didn't come out right. We learn from our mistakes!

@DesirousDreamer He even asked me if I have enough ingredients to make more! So, I guess I will be making it again sooner than I thought. I am going to try to make it pretty next time.

Well, I did make an apple pie recently. It was the first apple pie I had ever made, and it turned out great! It tasted good and looked really pretty as well.

Sometimes I have flops, so have to tweak the cooking times. My paraprofessional, when I taught, made them every year. Boy, were they delicious!!!

Trisha Yearwood has a recipe for this no pecans but I think they could be easily added.

I find recipes don't always turn out the way we expect them too but with a bit of tweaking eventually you succeed
