Am I active enough on mylot?

Making $5/month is low but should be easily achievable. For me though, that has yet to happen on mylot. I have never been able to reach $5 in a month's time here. It's not the end of the world for me if I don't, so long as I eventually get to it, but I'd prefer to get there in one month and on a regular basis. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how much I have to make a day for that to happen, so I divided that by either thirty days or thirty one days. Turns out I only need between $0.16 and $0.17 a day to reach $5. That should be easy enough to accomplish, however, that has yet to happen for me... Yeah, some days I get there and maybe even surpass it, but I think more often than not, I don't. Maybe I am not being active enough, even though it seems like I am. On the other hand, me being active earns me nothing, so does it really matter how active I am?

Don't concentrate or be obsessed about the earnings. Just enjoy the interactions and the discussions. Clarify your doubts, get help and help others.

That's right, if you don't concentrate on the earnings and just focus on interacting with other members and have fun, the earnings will come!

I enjoy interacting and sharing my experiences, insights, opinions, knowledge, etc. The earnings are not my main focus. I just wonder if others get to five by the end of the month why am I not able to... What do you mean by "clarify your points"?

@lovebuglena Many members reach the minimum payout every month, those members are very active within discussions.

When I read other members writings, I usually strike up a conversation. But, if I write a couple posts and then let them sit, I don't make much at all. The secret to making more on My Lot, is the commenting we do on other's writings. The less I comment, the less response I get and less $.

Haha, there was a time i earned like $0.33 in a day or was it $0.78? I don't quite remember but i think that was the max i ever earned. Not sure anymore as that was like a year or two ago when i was really active and tried my best to make the most of my day on myLot. I have never been much of an active member here. Only ever got paid once since i signed up. Never been here mainly for the money but for the discussions.

Ever since I enjoyed catching up with people here I noticed that my earnings increased. I check mylot several times a day and post an average one or two discussions which gets me over the 5$ by the middle of the month.

@lovebuglena You can earn without even starting your own discussions, just respond to others discussions and comments and try to keep the discussion going.

@jstory07 I have to disagree with your response. Based on my experience, the more active you are doesn't necessarily mean you will make more. You will make more if others are more active on what you post, be it a discussion, comment or response.

It's more than doing a couple posts. You know what the notification grind is. You have to do a great number of comments daily which is time consuming.

Those that are able to reach the minimum every month, I wonder how many hours they spend on a daily basis reading discussions and responding to them?

I think you need to do more commenting on others posts. It is reasonably easy to make 5.00 per month, but you do have to spend some time on the site.

Responding to other discussions is where you will earn a bit more. At least that's been my experience. =)

If I'm really devoted I can easily reach $5 every month but if I get lazy it would be impossible. The most I make in one month is 7 dollars. I think I'm not that active enough too

The more you interact the more others will back and your bank will go up. So yes, you being active matters. You'll get there.

@Shivram59 Just write about whatever comes to mind at the moment, and don't worry about whether what you wrote will garner a lot of interaction or not. Just write.

Money is not my main focus, but I can't forget about the money or not think about it, as the site lets us earn. And the big $ sign with the earnings on top right corner is always staring at me.

Have to agree with Debs a certain amount of activity is needed and I have been offline an awful lot the past few weeks due to other things going on. But you can fit all that in when you want there are no set times or anything like that.

I have not been active enough either, even though I have been here everyday. It took me like a week just to get 50 cents lol, obviously lower compare years before.

For example, there are days where it seems I am quite active and don't even go past 15 cents. And then there are days where it seems I am not active much and I make more. Goes to show that it's not really about how active we are but how active others are on what we post.

I don't believe the earnings are calculated evenly anyways. I was making about 50 cents a day at first. Although now I only go on in the evening, I feel I post and respond just the same but only make about 10 cents. But over all it doesn't matter. Its fun to just talk to people! If you want to make more join postloop or just look up paid forum posting.

I joined PostLoop. After the initial steps where you post some things and then you are given a rating I didn't get a high enough rating to be able to join any forums or blogs. Once in a while one or two may pop up where my rating is good enough to join but it is not something I want to be a part of. So, I am not making anything there.

@lovebuglena Thats how it was for me then I just kept posting in the few I could subscribe to until ny rating went up, now I get about 40 pts a day, not a lot but adds up much quicker than here.

I think being active is good indeed, but the most important thing is that we must post more interesting discussions that can make others follow ,this is just my own point anway.
@lovebuglena (43191)

That is definitely something to think about. What may be interesting to us may not be interesting to others. So, do we post what we want to post or do we post what we think others will like and want to discuss?
• Urumqi, China

@lovebuglena really it is anyway, but you better to follow your own interest, there must be certain number of people who is in the same interest or the same view, because the people round here are from all over the world ,just do what you love to do, then they will notice you naturally
