I'm Really Disgusted with my Lack of Discipline today.

The Irish Hills above Costco, Taken from the Edge of the Costco Parking Lot

We had to go to Costco this afternoon and shop. I spent too much time on Twitter and online finances and didn't get any blogging done. I wanted to finish the construction blog tonight, and I haven't done a thing on it. Instead I joined group that retweets each other's clean posts and had to do some retweeting. Before I knew it, it was time to leave for Costco. My husband drove, because I'm still not ready to drive the grade in my "new" car. Hubby can drive now, but he still has trouble with pain while walking around. So he drove and I shopped. Usually we get two carts and he gets the protein drinks in his cart. He usually gets four huge boxes. Then he gets water softener salt for the Templeton house if he needs it, and he pushes that heavy cart. This time everything went in my cart. I put the the drink boxes in first and by the time I'd added a few other heavy items I could barely push the cart. Costco is a very large store, a warehouse store. By the time I'd pushed the heavy cart from one end to the other and back to check-out, I was exhausted. I was also bummed out that they didn't have everything on my list. When we got back to the North County, we still had to stop at Trader Joe's to get eggs and goat's milk. Hubby drove, but chose to stay in the car while I shopped. That didn't take too long, but I was greatly surprised to see an old friend there who had lived in Virginia last I heard. He works for Samaritan's Purse, and he's transferred back to California, but his old home here is rented out to another friend. We all used to go to the same church. We spent a few moments catching up. Then I checked out. Back at home I started unloading the perishables and putting them away. I only brought some of the packaged goods in. I was just too tired to run back and forth from the car to the house in the dark. I watched an hour of TV with my husband, and then went to the computer. Instead of working on my blog post, I wound up back on Facebook and killed too much time there. Now I'm here. I don't think I'll get anything done on the post tonight unless I just edit more of the photos for it. I'm too mentally tired to do much else. Maybe I should just forget it and go to bed. Except I still have to schedule tomorrow's Twitter posts. Have you accomplished all you'd hoped to today?

I think you are being too hard on yourself. Do not push yourself too much. You need a break. Then your mind will refresh and you will be able to work on whatever you want to. Try enjoying the moment you spend with your husband. Do not give internet life more imporatance because then you will miss the real life fun. Have a break and good luck. I know you can do it. Believe in yourself. You're the best. Everybody makes mistakes and we learn from them.

I agree I need a break. I didn't work so hard today, but then I felt too sick to do much physical work today. Hubby was also sick, and we did spend some time just talking this afternoon.

@bagarad That's awesome. Glad you are spending some time together. I hope he gets well soon. You just need to rest and relax. Good luck. Wish you all the best.

Did you get all the groceries in the house? It does sound like you had a tiring day. I had only one thing on my plate for today and it's accomplished with great satisfaction.

I took care of all of the groceries this morning. A shopping trip to Costco means finding places that don't yet exist to store the stuff we come home with. So I had to arrange two cupboards to get things put away. Glad you had a productive day.

@just4him Makes me almost not want to shop. I'm afraid I'm becoming a recluse who doesn't want to go anywhere except on photo walks.

@bagarad It seems I'm always doing that when I bring in a load of groceries.

I always pop on Facebook to upload photo to a private album or something fast and get sucked into scrolling through the news feed for a half hour to an hour. Mylot is the same way lol but at least I feel productive here with the few cents I earn. That is great you ran into your friend and were able to catch up with him!

@bagarad oh I see I agree sometimes it's better to not go into certain topics depending on where you are.

@bagarad it is very hard for me to know what to say or think of anything to say when I run into someone. It is very akward for me. I agree trader joes wouldn't be the right place to talk about everything.

@shaggin Yup. When we go shopping we are usually in a hurry and so is the person we meet, unless they go shopping hoping they will see someone they know. The old "gather at the general store to gossip" days are long past. Most of us wish we didn't have to take time to shop at all. That's why it's awkward to run into someone you haven't seen in ages. What can you say in three minutes that has any meaning? "Hi. Nice to see you again." or "What's going on with you?" In my case I asked if they had moved back or were just visiting the area.

I always put all my grocery away as soon as my husband drives me home. I never go to the computer until I have finished real world chores.

Normally, I do, too, but I had no energy left when we got home. All I could do was sit.

@bagarad I am just back from Italy. We are clearing the apartment of my mom. I am exhausted, it's almost 7 pm, I have to prepare something for dinner.

@LadyDuck I'll best you are exhausted emotionally as well as physically. I didn't have to clear everything from my mom's house because I kept it and I'm living in it now. I kept most of her furniture and kitchen stuff. What I dread is clearing the Templeton house when the time comes.

It can be very easy to get side-tracked away from the important jobs.

Yup! I did myself in again today. Wore myself out in the morning unloading the car from the Costco trip yesterday and putting everything away. I was sick to my stomach all day today and ate almost nothing. I think I brought this on myself. would you care to guess how? The only really useful thing I did today was finally get my haircut and pick up the mail from both houses. Hubby is sick again and woozy and couldn't drive. I'm going to answer comments from this post and go to bed and leave anything else here for tomorrow.

@bagarad The only good/bad thing is that if you don't do anything it will all be there tomorrow. I bet none of it will disappear.

@Dirren_Ronaldo Yes, I have about six blogs I hope I can keep alive. I spend the most time on just four of them and contribute to a group blog, too. I blog about my local area, my garden, and I review books and products. I don't have time to blog on all of them as often as I should. What do you blog about?

I always find that when I am done with everything there is always something that has been pushed aside. I am going to try to schedule my stuff better. I love that photo it looks like the kind of country around in the suburbs where I live in Riga, Latvia.

Those hills are pretty. I have walked a little in them, but we never really have much time when we're there, Hubby can't hike anymore, and I shouldn't be hiking in the hills alone.

As my mission was to accomplish next to nothing, I succeeded greatly.

Maybe I should forget about having a mission then, so I can succeed, too.
