Confusion about vegetables

lettuce,vegetable

When I shared my post about the smoothie a days ago. After I opened up about adding a lettuce as ingredient, one of the responder claimed by her friends doctor that lettuce had no vitamins what so ever. Then she waited for clarification from another mylotter and it turns out that this one didn't like lettuce on the smoothie. I learned that there's another term for cabbage and they called it iceberg lettuce. And this were the confusion came from, turns out they were about another vegetable. I could be wrong, maybe they're still confused...like me But it was a good discussion. Despite of that I would still think of adding lettuce to the smoothie but I still have mustard and bokchoi so not yet.

I like cabbage but lettuce is still the best. But lettuce is expensive , so cabbage will do.

Never heard of adding lettuce as I would not think it would hold up. Around here everyone is always adding Spinach in their Smoothies as it is really good for you raw.

Hello @KrauseHome I really haven't done it though it was just a suggestions. Sadly, we don't have spinach over here, otherwise I would have grasp for it.

You are still confused Iceburg lettuce looks similar but it is NOT cabbage. Cabbage tastes different, is heavier and thicker then iceburg lettuce. Cabbage is used in coleslaw and other dishes but not as a salad. Kale and spinach are best for smoothies but I hate kale so I use spinach.

Hello @shaggin Well, I tried to research it but there's not much information on the iceburg lettuce, only cabbage. Well, unfortunately we don't have kale and spinach over here so I just resorted to using bokchoy, mustard, okra and moringa.

Lettuce can't have many calories as it's usually in any diet plan.
