I'm reading this "news" story from yesterday and I can't believe this is real. I mean seriously, this is what our world is coming to? So this lady was denied her flight by United Airlines. She had paid for two tickets and they denied her to get onto the plane. Due to her emotional support animal they would not let her fly. At first that kind of sound bad, I'm not sure about this whole emotional support animal thing but I guess that is a thing now. So I read farther and found that the reason they denied her is cause her support animal is a peacock, yes you read that right, a PEACOCK. If this is the actual animal she was trying to bring onto the plane, what made her think this would be okay? Maybe she has more than just emotional issues. I have to admit I don't get the whole emotional support animal thing and I don't want to sound to cold hearted but if you need one and plan to travel outside you house maybe you should get an animal other people will take seriously. Dog, that makes sense. Cat, not my favorite but I can deal and understand that. Turtle, a little cold maybe but he isn't going to hurt anyone or run away. A Peacock? really? Next someone is going to want a giraffe. It's a crazy world out there, take care of each other.

People have become nut, I have read that passengers are complaining for the too many animals that people bring aboard. A Peacock is ridiculous.

@Bensen32 Well said, I have seen photos of animals people tried to board, a penguin, a Mallard duck, a tarantula in a jar, a small kangaroo, a pretty big pork... It is ridiculous.

An emotional support animal is different than a service animal. It can be pretty much anything, even a cricket. A service animal is restricted to dogs and, yes, miniature horses, however the law does not recognize an animal that has not been trained. Even if this woman had a letter from her doctor stating a need for an emotional support animal it doesn't mean it qualifies under the law.

A peacock? The concept is absurd.

I would be rather uncomfortable sitting in a seat behind or in front of that peacock.

right, i think they made the right choice, she would have been the only one on the plane that felt comfortable.
