You are being watched more than you realize

I turned on the TV last night and that guy on FOX News was on. Tucker Carlson had a clip about how we who have cell phones are being watched by Google way more than we realize.
The news clip went like this:
A man had done an experiment. He took 2 cell phones with him on his day. He had them in his pocket. One cell phone was turned to Air Plane Mode. The other phone had no Sims Card within. They both were not hooked up to a signal, they were not connected to Wi Fi.
Yet, by the end of his trip around town, both phones , still recorded each place he had been to. He took a cab to each place. Both phones knew when and where he got out of the cab. Google was still tracking him without a signal.
That is scary isn't it?

If they were turned on, of course they were hooked to some type of signal, even if it was not a carrier they used.
That's kinda how those things work.
Technically speaking, they knew what those phones were doing.
That doesn't mean they know who was in possession of the phone.
Heck, I might need that information about myself some day...glad I know who to get it from.

This just made me remember I lost a phone last November...but no one could help me find it! I reported it lost/stolen, but it is still very much missing in action, and it had a SIM card and the serial number is in a database somewhere should it ever be relocated. Maybe the technology isn't quite where they say it is, lol

@vera5d Oh, if the phone is operating (turned on) then it could be found...but you'd likely have to pay through the nose to do it. Someone would have to go through records for the day you lost it searching for what cell tower it was 'pinging' and no one is going to do that for free. The cops won't prioritize something like a phone to waste the manpower hunting for a lost or stolen one. I imagine the guy with the two phones had GPS tracking enabled on both of them and they had already set up someone to track them ahead of time, it wasn't just a random thing.

I'm still trying to figure out, why are they doing this? What makes a man's simple daily routines, so darn interesting?

I am thinking it has to do with an eventual One World Order. They want to have a data base of all people and their likes and dislikes.

I guess it is scary but I would have turned the phone completely off if I didn't want to be tracked.

That is just like Skype. You don't have to have it turned on for 'someone' to be watching you. That's why I put a piece of Duct Tape over mine on the computer. @LeaPea2417 . Some TV's even have a camera within them.
