The shame of FGM and the Wests inaction

One of the problems of third world immigration to the West is you have to tolerate their barbaric practices like Female Genital mutilation. It’s believed that up to 90% of East Africa women suffer this disgusting attack on their bodies. The WHO say FGM is carried out by both women and men as a way to control a young women's sexuality, which is sometimes said to be insatiable if parts of the genitalia, especially the clitoris, are not removed, almost witchcraft. It is thought to ensure virginity before marriage and fidelity afterward, and to increase male sexual pleasure. Its sick and moronic third world nonsense that should not be tolerated. But as its mostly black people who do it on other black people the white west feels it is powerless to act and intervene for racial reasons. Because of that no prosecutions have happened in the United Kingdom since laws were brought in to stop it here in the 1980s. It’s believed around 17,000 young girls a year are ‘taken to Africa from the United Kingdom to have this procedure. Police and social workers try their best to stop the trips but seem powerless to achieve that as the parents or guardians just say it’s a family holiday. If the cutting was done in the UK then there is a chance to bring down the attacks. We have tried to prosecute a doctor or two but trials collapsed. Tackling it here has forced at FGM abroad. I should deport any parents who allow their children suffer this. The question then is do we really care about these girls because of their skin colour? Feminist have been raging recently about female abuse but won’t touch this issue, one that should be at the top of their list of complaints. No Hollywood stars have come out to defend the girls and politicians only react her when it’s in the news. With The Black Panther bout to do huge box office around the world with it s all black cast and superhero maybe now is the time to raise issues like this girls?

I wish this would not happen. But I see no way of stopping it unless by education.

I suspect the best way to tackle this issue is through education, it is very hard to change things that are considered cultural. If the guardians permit or encourage it, it is very hard for the authorities to do anything about it.

Unfortunately such issues are given the tone of religion and race and hushed up ! there is no point in mutilating the genitalia. it is clearly understood that if these things were not required they wouldn't have existed in human beings at the first place! Despite understanding the things the religious leaders to sustain their power and supremacy they encourage such acts! Very bad state of affairs! Thanks for initiating such a burning issue here on Mylot dear @thedevilinme ! God bless!

I know that this happens and it's horrible how nobody says a word. Those poor women are obliged to tolerate this ritual and they do not get a big part in a movie and plenty of money for this.!

Loads of legislation and mandatory reporting around the fgm issue in the uk. Problem is the communities here still see it as ok. They are the problem not us...in my opinion.

This is a huge problem that is highly being fought here in Kenya. A woman recently went to court so that this can be legalized. It’s a shame
