Unlikely celebrity crushes vol. 2 - Michael Bolton. Hm. Let me think about this. Maybe Michael Bolton isn't the most unlikely celebrity crush. However there seems to be 2 schools of thought on him. 1 is the rampant fans. And 1 is those who think he is a cheesy, cheesy joke. For me? I'm somewhere in between. The man has an incredible voice. But I find those love ballads cheesy! He is a nice looking man, even if his hair has changed over the years, though in my opinion he is unconventionally so. In his early years, before he made it big with hits like "Can I Touch You There" and "Said I Loved You But I Lied" he actually had a rockin' hard rock sound. Check out the video below: Are you enjoying these posts? See all of them my clicking the green box at the top of the page. Who are your unlikely crushes?

Omg! His ex lives in my town, his mother nearby and used to go to the same hairdresser, and his girls went to school with my boys. I saw him at a basketball game and later chatted with him at a grade six reception. He looks much better in person and had the prettiest green eyes and smoothest complexion. He had a beautiful house near my brother's house. Our younger son played his saxophone for him. lol Here in Florida, we have a celebrity, Peppy Castro, in our condo. Peppy told me his friend asked him to get Michael some jobs and breaks when he started out. They still keep in touch, but Peppy isn't happy with him. Bob Dylan is still on my crush list.

@FayeHazel He was very pleasant and soft spoken. I started the conversation and we kept blabbing for about 15 minutes. Peppy and I sun ourselves together at the pool. Boy, can he talk! I may have to fake sleep when I see him. My new post is about some pretty famous playwright who lives down the hall from us. We had dinner with him last night.

No way! He's a hometown guy, huh? Oh that is so cool. I can't imagine him in person, and I bet his speaking voice is pretty nice, too. What was he like - in person? Nice? Approachable? That is cool about your son, both playing sax (cool instrument) but also playing for Bolton. I had to look up Peppy -- but that's awesome Ps. coming for a vist..... ;-)

I remember you mentioning him before. Weirdly he is on tour over here in the UK right now. He must still have a few fans, even though I can't recall him having a hit for a couple of decades. As for mine. I still have a thing for Julie Andrews and Shirley Bassey.

@FayeHazel Sorry, I think I am busy on the night he's not at Bolton. He's not my cup of tea, but I can see how women are attracted to him. I too used to have that "something" but it must have fallen through a hole in my pocket a few years ago. Can't seem to put my finger on it these days.

Oh that's cool, I didn't know he was touring. Come to think on it you have the Orbison (hologram - still not sure how I feel on that) and Bolton. Maybe a trip is in order :-) Julie Andrews is amazing! Timeless! Had to look up Shirley.... I see what you mean, talent and she's so beautiful!

I know the name, but not the music. Charlton Heston was another actor I really liked.

@FayeHazel There's only one movie I don't like of his - Soylent Green. My son likes that movie. Otherwise, I think I've seen all or most of his movies.

I love the voice! I have no crushes on anyone (as a man). I think the voice is exceptional. I have many of the love songs but sadly i pay no interest on the news surrounding the man or his life. 'Everybody's Crazy' I can make out the pure notes in his voice and i definitely respond to it, but the lyrics I have no idea. I save my admiration for the Bollywood singers who seriously know music. I hardly have a crush on anyone. I just love and appreciate talent wherever I find it. Sometimes the language too is no barrier...I can spot an exceptional singer a mile off. My bar for excellence in music is set very high. Can you bring rain, or light a candle or shatter glass with your notes? When I come across singers who command the very elements, I an riveted! That's music for you! And I listen in awe!

No crushes is probably a lot easier way to live :-) Bollywood is such a happy sounding music and amazing dance form -- what little I know of it. I have been appreciating singers a lot more as of recent , too

@Gita17112016 I have thought a lot about the nature of crushes. Of course, sometimes these celebrities are very good looking - and that always helps people to desire them. Other times I think the celebrity becomes a shell - something that the crushee can project the personality of the person they want into, because, after all we don't really know these people.....

@FayeHazel I dunno. i have no crushes because these artists are so different. I like good music. Even with actors I know very little of their lives and it doesn't interest me much. But different folks different strokes. i think the younger generation need to have something to aspire to. And I am okay with that.

I am not attracted to him or his music. I liked when he was younger and his hair was long but not really sure what he looks like now. His name is spelled wrong in the title by the way.

Thanks for the head's up - fixed it :-) Oh his long hair was excellent. Why he cut it is a mystery to me.

I never know what to think of him. Yes he had the looks but he never sag his own song - which I felt was a bit of a turn off. Yet I think he had a great voice but somehow there seemed to be a distance between us. Not sure why

I didn't know he didn't write any of his own music. Maybe that's why he was able switch genres so easily

He did capture the big hair look of that time which the women seemed to embrace, lol.

Lol, epic hair. If I'm being honest it's true - I was slightly more disappointed than I should have been that he cut his hair.
