I have had dogs and had cats and I prefer a woman but then when she looks at me she might prefer dogs or cats.

@Kakashi20 No, we often travel and not always you can bring your cat with you. The two cats of my neighbors love to come to visit me. I let them inside and I play with them.

I like both for pets. I am though more of a cat person now since they need less care. Though you got to have litter for them, both need to go to the vets for their shots and care and both need baths. I'd one fur baby Chaunci when alive he HATED to be cleaned. He kept his temper, but growled at times when I bathed him. He was so sweet when I scolded him he'd bow his head and stop growling. I miss him for he went to Cat Heaven a few years back. Now where I live we can't have pets. It's okay for I would see pet and pet owners from time to time that make me smile all the time when I see them.

I am scared of dogs and don't have a cat although one lives in my ceiling.. I wish I knew what it means to have a pet.

@Kakashi20 Unfortunately, now we live in a small flat and we spend most of our time in our workplaces. Now it is not ideal to have a pet, but I am sure that one day we wiill have a dog. :)

Cats, not that I hate dogs, we have 2, but much more into cats. I've told my wife that after these dogs go, no more. In fact, the wife warned a friend that should something happen to her, they are probably going to get the dogs (that would be yes.)
