Do you act as if all is fine but deep inside it's not?

Do you think that we are all actors, pretending that all is fine when it's not? I noticed the other day that I was walking around as if all was well but deep inside my boots my socks were sliding off and it was driving me crazy but I acted like a brave soldier instead of showing my displeasure as to what was actually happening. Has something similar happened to you? Today, a little stone was inside my shoe but just kept on walking though it bothered me. Maybe it's true after all that the only way to know what's going on in someone else's life is to walk a mile in their shoes? What do you think? What drives you crazy but you keep it all inside pretending that all is well? Do you remember the song The Great Pretender by The Platters?

Sometimes inside you are mad at someone while you pretend to be happy on the outside.

I do this often as I don't want people to feel sorry for me or to pity me. I would rather pretend all is well in front of people and feel the pain of it when I am alone.

Yes, but sometimes it's so small that I wait a while especially in the cold and wet weather that we have in winter. It might even be a grain of salt the they use on the ice and it might melt in time.

@db20747 When we have things that we are carrying and there is snow and slush all around then we need to find a suitable place where we can put things down and be able to take our boots off and find the little stone that is irritating our foot.

Even in a desolate scene such as this, one can find peace, love, and truth, can't one?
"Do you act as if all is fine but deep inside it's not?" Good question, but if we go deeper than deep, all is fine really, isn't it? This is because levels of deepness cover many things over with themselves, and yet the deepest level of deepness remains unperturbable, it is our inner core of love. When we feel bad then, and want to hide, we should go deeper under this feeling, and let the underlying love break free again, past these rocks holding it down, and be love again, even as God created us to be so. I think most people don't have peace, love and truth no matter how deep you go. I think most people are acting when they are with other people.

@1hopefulman Well, if we believe in God, I would have to say that God's original plan was to make us that way, peaceful, loving, and truthful. Sin has covered this stuff over with itself, but underneath it all, deep enough down, must remain the blueprints still in us of God's original plans for us, I think.

I do not think that it is acting, at times there are just situations that we cannot do much except hold our heads up high so us not to affect the people around us. As with the socks and stone, I don't think it's that hopeless, I'd probably find a rubber band, and I would take revenge on the stone by throwing it on the road where a lot of cars pass or a river if I find one

With me these days it is very difficult. I am all alone with my cat Sid so I do not have to deal with people. I do have to deal with my late husband's daughter who comes to see me when she can. I feel sorry for her because I cannot help it. I am a nervous person and we are having a very difficult and cold winter. I have an old house an right no only one room I can get to keep warm and that is where I work on the PC. But then in the cold, as sometimes happens an electric cork pops out. I go hysterical there will be no heat then I push it back in and all is fine again but the terror stays with me. Then she asks me how I am and we all know what happens all of my fright and frustration come pouring out and the poor young woman must feel like it was better not to talk to me at all. I am in the process of making decisions to change my life and sell this house to I will be one happy camper when I walk away from it all.

Most of the time I am me and if do not want to smile then I don't. Yes, I have things inside and when things continue to be inside then one day I explode and do not like to act that way but just one thing can do it for me and it is the ones that deserve it get it from me. If I do not like someone and I know they do not care how I am and ask how I am so I say fine and walk on. I do not ask them because I do not care.
