This is today Google Doodle: “Celebrating the Edelweiss Flower”.
I like this flower too.
It is a well-known mountain flower. Here it is under special security control. It is prohibited the Edelweiss to be picked here, in Bulgaria. Here we could see this plant very rarely and only in the mountains.
I know that there are possibilities to plant the Edelweiss in the garden but I have never seen it here in any garden.

No, we don't have the edelweiss here. It certainly is a very pretty flower.

No way they would survive here friend but as mentioned by @Corbin5 , the song " Edelweiss" made the flower very popular because it was sang by Julie Andrews in the award winning movie " The sound of music"

I actually never knew what edelweiss looked like, I am pretty sure we do not have that here since it just gets too hot for it.
