My joyful lunch

I had to go to a mall in the next town over in order to get some replacement lids for our Pyrex dishes at the Corningware outlet. After that errand, we got some quick lunch at Jollibee before picking up my youngest daughter from school.
There's a large Filipino population in the area, so we have a couple of Jollibees around. They seem to be known best for their "Chickenjoy" fried chicken, although they have spaghetti and burgers too. I got the 2 piece chicken combo with rice, gravy, and pineapple juice.
I noticed that they had some family pack deals for under $20, and maybe we'll pick up one of those for dinner some night.

@spiderdust their spaghetti is more on the sweet side. The burger steak is fine. Nothing special.

@Strawberry18 I like the mushroom sauce kind. It was part of yesterday's family pack (a 6 piece bucket of Chickenjoy and a family sized burger steak pack) for only $20, and I seriously considered it for our dinner.

I'm not Filipino, although I first became acquainted with Jollibee when I moved to San Francisco years ago.

@rheicel I thought it was very good! I like being able to order pineapple juice instead of soda with my meal too.

@spiderdust Oh, okay. So how's the Jollibee experience so far? What it tastes like?

Yum lol. I went to an appointment today and I also stopped by to get something to eat. Though were we went was a Jack in the Box and got the chicked strips combo. I haven't had that since a while ago so I wanted to eat it again now that I had the chance. Haha, since I ordered a combo, I upgraded to medium but they ran out of medium cups and they gave me a large cup for free lol

There's a Jack in the Box near my home, but it has no drive-thru and doesn't stay open 24 hours!

@spiderdust Really, is it the individual chain or one of those inside a Walmart or gas stations? Hmm, I don't think I ever seen a Jack in the Box without a drive thru

@fearjp It's an individual chain in a stand alone building. It's very strange.

@spiderdust I am not surprised if they open in Italy, in my native city the Filipino community counts 65,000 people. I see there are none here in Switzerland.

They have over 950 stores in the Philippines and over 150 in other countries around the world. It looks like they're opening restaurants in Italy and the United Kingdom sometime this year.

@ridingbet It is a very cute logo/mascot. There is a large bee statue outside the one I've been to in San Francisco.

I do enjoy it every now and then. I think it's been over 5 years since I had been to one. I think the closest ones to you are in Illinois, which isn't that close.

A small one, but a good one! You have Jollibee in your neck of the woods, right?

Never heard of Jollibee, but it came up as a suggestion as I typed this into my phone. Sounds good!

It's a fast food chain from the Philippines, although there's several in the United States (mostly in California, although they're also in New Jersey, Texas, and a few other states).
