We are getting ready for our long trip next weekend to Minnesota. I was disappointed because we were not taking the van. Our mechanic had hurt his back.
Sid, the mechanic called last night. He feels much better and is ready to change out the transmission. We decided it was worth the investment. He has already pulled the old one out. He and hubby will go get the replacement rebuilt tranny tomorrow afternoon.
I think Sid is a workaholic. He has a full time job, then does this in the evenings and on the weekends.
For the amount of things I wanted to take, the van is our very best choice.

Glad he's feeling better and you might be able to take the van!

Well, that's nice. Hope Sid's back holds up until he has the new tranny all hooked up.

Oh, me too. I feel sorry for anyone who is laid up with back pain.

Well, best of luck to you on your trip. Have a safe journey and enjoy. Is the weather good there now because I know Minnesota has harsh winters..

Sid did not want to do the transmission rebuild. He says he has never done that, but he was glad to take the old one out, go get the rebuilt one and put it in. He is a good guy.

I am looking forward to it. It has been more than six months since we have seen the daughter and grandkids. Almost a year since we have seen the son in law.

My daughter, son in law and four grand children live in Minnesota. I also have a friend I met here on myLot who lives less than ten miles from them. I try to see him as well.

That is nice. Where do they all live Heather? I am from Minneapolis. I left in November 1986 to come and live in Israel and went back twice.
