Guess what do you think it is?

Hello fellow Mylotters. Sorry I have not been here for a few days. I was so busy writing in my other writing sites and checking my videos from my Panasonic video camera. The videos are mostly my travel adventures in the Philippines. I was baking yesterday for a late unannounced visitor. I didn't have anything to serve for a short notice but then I was still able to bake a yummy pie out of what I have in my cupboard. I was experimenting in making a pie which ingredients I could have freshly include in a pie when I will be home again in the Philippines. What do you think I have put as filling in this pie? Photo above. I want you to guess. It is fun guessing something, don't you think? Here's a clue. It is a tropical fruit but I could buy it here in Germany although shredded or in a can. By the way, how was your weekend?

I guess it's coconut, we cannot find fresh coconut here, but shredded or coconut milk in a can is available in almost every store.

You got it right @LadyDuck. I used desiccated coconut with coconut milk in the pie. It was really delicious. Now I am looking forward to making this coconut pie with fresh young grated coconut when I will be home again.

I thought it was a cinnamon roll and so no filling.

i thought so too, maybe because of the circular swirl?

No, it is not a cinnamon roll @salonga. I used a filo pastry and there was still few left and so I cut the rest into long slices and swirl them and decorated them on top. Then I sprinkled chocolate shavings so the pie would not look pale.

No, it is not @Kandae11. I used filo pastry and the rest of the pastry, I twisted and decorated on top of the pie..

I assume maybe coconut but the top white swirled part looks like cream cheese. It looks very yummy.

It is indeed coconut @shaggin. The top swirled part were just swirled slices leftover filo pastry from the bottom of the pie. Yes, it was yummy.

I'm just happy enough to guess that it was a pie without reading haha because it is so pretty but I have no idea about baking. I was going to guess pineapple because shredded pineapple is like one of the best things. a star fruit? I don't know, I just like the look of star fruits, I don't know if that can be shredded haha

I think I will try pineapple next time I make a pie. I would like to try star fruit as well. I think you can shred the star fruit but I think I will put it in a food processor. Thanks for the ideas @DesirousDreamer.
